  1. We probably think for that price we can do better… value is in the eye of the beholder… perhaps he isn’t generational… perhaps his way of going about getting this pay day made coaches question his culture fit…perhaps that’s more than Collin Simmons and we don’t want to set a precedence… could be so many reasons
  2. 11 months before signing day doesn’t mean much.
  3. It has been regularly reported that Texas is one of the top spending programs, doesn’t sound like that will change regardless of how funds are dispersed (NIL vs Cap funds)… what fans have a distorted view of here is what “All-In” means… it doesn’t mean unlimited… guaranteed whatever we do they have some form of budget, what makes this difficult for the arm chair QB’s to understand is that nobody knows what anyone is getting paid, what their teams actual budget is, and what the reality around NIL is… Gerry and Bobby have said multiple times that the NIL figures reported on Twitter and the like are pretty inflated to the reality… everyone relax.
  4. I won’t lie, he is great, but the obsession with him by some fans is over the top. It’s MUCH more important in my opinion to fix the OL, and behind a great OL you don’t need a top 5 back, we will still need a portal RB, but overpaying for Baugh doesn’t win us a national title.
  5. The portal isn’t even open… he doesn’t need to decide for another week at least
  6. If I understand this correctly, it means he is taking less from the University direct, however he can still take external NIL opportunities that probably pay better anyway (I.e. Redbull, WarbyParker, Vuori, etc) … still helpful because it theoretically leaves more local NIL, but my guess is he is still the highest paid player in CFP next year.
  7. One year ago we had one of the top offensive lines in the country… rough crowd… now I agree, if we continue to struggle on the field then draft picks don’t matter, but an off year where we improved as the year went on isn’t a reason to fire a guy who has a history of success.
  8. But think of all the productivity that comes with debating politics and religion with people on the internet that we are all missing out on 😂🤣
  9. Would we also make a run at Savion Hiter given the need for RB’s
  10. Bingo…Let’s all be honest about this… there are WAY more coaches than we know or care to admit are having affairs, it gets covered up if you win, and if you don’t, it comes out. doesnt just stop at affairs, college and professional sports is a dirty, dirty place… but winning covers up a lot.
  11. Regardless they can join the regular portal window… if they want to move they can. Agents will be called for sure… probably already are.
  12. Sort of happy there was chaos, will force everyone to rethink things… the system is definitely not setup correctly.
  13. That may not be the worst thing in the world… if you can’t get him, at least make others pay more.
  14. Better question… does finishing top 10 even matter at that point
  15. Was it ever reported where we were at? Heard the rumors of $40M, but I think Sark said that was untrue.
  16. Someone really need to get the college football calendar cleaned up so that we don’t have playoff coaches switching jobs right before the playoffs… move signing day and the portal to after the playoffs.
  17. My main concern is that it’s already difficult to hold onto developmental players as they have playing time and NIL available at other programs… now that we are adding more spots are we just developing more players for other programs?
  18. IOL x2 RB TE LB CB S
  19. And that’s probably not a bad thing… in the NIL era you pay recruits based off their projections, and when they fail to live up to it I’m sure the NIL package changes, and guys will look for other opportunities. The staff has to do this because they can’t afford to lock up NIL dollars with underperforming players or they will lose their jobs. its the unfortunate side effect of the NIL day and age, yes players get paid, like employees, but that also means they will be fired/cut like an underperforming employee would at a job.
  20. Despite some being frustrated with recent results, this is the best outcome for the program in my opinion. One down year does not constitute a need for firing or running him off…
  21. Him or Freeman would be a home run hire… would likely get to keep a lot of our recruits too.
  22. Is it if Dia Bell decommits, and Arch decided to transfer? I’m not sure you can definitively say that… best case scenario we would replace Sark with a guy like Freeman… but say that doesn’t happen and we have to go for a lesser known commodity then what?
  23. At the end of the day that would be disastrous depending on who came in to replace Sark… would almost guarantee roster turnover and some rebuilding.
  24. Does anyone have the full post? Won’t lie, I don’t see that as a good thing even if this year was a let down.
