  1. Eddie Phillips took over for a Longhorn legend QB and led them to a 10-1 season, averaging 38 points per game and put hardware in the trophy case. I vote Eddie.
  2. It starts in little league and peewee football and it grows.
  3. It most likely could have been Mark McBath if not for the injury.
  4. Ron McKelvey / Ron Weaver
  5. No thanks to this one. Too much baggage. Miss Terry's husband a better fit.
  6. Well, that was a Tuesday morning kick in the nuts.
  7. Don't argue with that woman!
  8. My mayonnaise has already expired, so let's play ball.
  9. Sentimental choice - Danny Lester, national champion DB, RIP
  10. Hard to argue with that list. Where did Justin Blaylock and Kasey Studdard rate?
  11. Try App State.
  12. Need six o-linemen up front with a Casey Studdard attitude.
  13. Both were very good ball players. Malcolm was a bit undersized for DE but tough as nails.
  14. Bobby Wuensch the poet and Bill Wyman tied. Both of them should be on the Longhorn Mt. Rushmore of O-linemen. From the era when O-linemen could not hold.
  15. None. “We don’t want any candy stripes on our uniforms. These are work clothes.”
  16. For the older folks: Roosevelt Leaks would have been a favorite for the Heisman in 1974 if not for the knee injury in the spring of 74. Edwin Simmons looked like a superstar until the knee injury at Arkansas 1983. And that year we were a muffed punt away from a national championship. I could go on but if if's and but's were candy and nuts...
  17. I like them all but if I have to pick only one I'll go with the starting lineman of a national championship team, Will Allen.
  18. Our team should look good getting off the bus.
  19. I saw a good number of Dronett's games in person. Shane was a real warrior in my opinion. It's a darn shame how he ended up after NFL years.
