Completely agree. Plus I think we had the offensive pieces to give that “vaunted” defense problems. Look what we did to them this past season in their place with less skill and continuity on offense. Definitely a missed opportunity. But just like we matched up well against Michigan, Washington matched up well against us… I still gotta remember that we fumbled twice in that 2nd half & still almost won it. Just pain.

Definitely Tech but last year to Washington with 4 tries in the red zone still pains me. No question in my mind we beat Michigan last year. They hadn’t played a team more equipped to take away everything they wanted to do than us. I’ll die on that hill forever.

I can still remember how hyped I was when Jerrod Heard ripped off that huge run to tie it & then how stunned I was when we missed the extra point.

It’s too bad A&M’s basketball team is pretty good this year. But then again, they’ll probably get overhyped and overvalued after the Auburn win & immediately turn around & lose to a mid program lol

Gotta think first game nerves got in our guys heads. Especially with a new coaching regime, players want to come out & impress. I have a feeling Schloss will calm them down & they’ll play a lot better tomorrow.

I think either Collins or Williams ends up with the Eagles. The way they play & maximize both lines I think they would both have a tremendous chance to maximize there. Imagine Collins in tandem with Jalen Carter? He might get 10+ sacks just off the fact Carter commands a double every snap. Or Williams a year or two to develop even further behind Lane Johnson at RT.

Very true. & they do a great job at developing OL so I think he could turn into an All-Pro level player if he sits behind Lane Johnson for a year or two

I do think it’s overblown for sure but I do think if one of our guys go crazy in the spring game, it’s not just the other programs we need to worry about. We gotta worry about who may be around these kids telling them they’re worth x amount of dollars & they should explore the portal etc. But overall I agree with your premise that we as Texas really shouldn’t struggle to retain players. I would hope everyone in the program is locked in & wouldn’t be swayed anyways but you never know.
