  1. Indianapolis (In.) Warren Central 4-star EDGE in the 2025 cycle Damien Shanklin confirmed with OnTexasFootball Friday that he has an official visit scheduled to Texas June 21-23. Michigan, Texas, Tennessee Notre Dame and Ohio State have emerged as the schools at the top of the list for the 6-4, 230 pound pass rusher. He will make visits to all five, both in the spring and summer OV's. Notre Dame is expected to receiver a spring unofficial and June official visit. Texas offered Shanklin in September of 2023. OTF will have more on Shanklin this weekend.
  2. OV’s can begin on April 1 of Junior Year
  3. OnTexasFootball caught up with 4-star DL Zion Williams this afternoon. Texas DL coach Kenny Baker spoke with Zion Williams Thursday. Nothing major of note, other than continued relationship building, and Williams and his mom are looking at dates he could visit Texas this spring. Spring Game is possible. Same goes for Texas A&M. Williams will make an unofficial visit to LSU March 9. He also has a visit set up to TCU May 3-5. That will be an official visit.
  4. In one picture is ... No. 2 Damien McDaniel - UNLV signee as DB No. 4 Bryce Dorsey - Memphis signee as DB No. 11 Kelshaun Johnson That's your 3A backcourt ... McDaniel is one of the very best on ball defenders I have seen in high school in many years.
  5. The 3A defending state champ’s Hitchcock High smashed Anahuac 82-30 in a second round game last night … could have been a hundred. That’s what four D1 football players and a 6-5 DI level junior G/W will do in a 3A basketball if they are motivated.
  6. Kelshaun Johnson pics from Hitchcock High basketball playoff game last night …
  7. LSU offered as a corner. Texas A&M and Texas have said corner, but also like his versatility. IMO, think safety long term. Long armed, rangy safety prospect with ball skills. His frame hasn't even truly begun to ascend.
  8. Kade Phillips junior HUDL: Defense... http://www.hudl.com/v/2N067c Offense ... http://www.hudl.com/v/2Mx5Ci
  9. Four-star scheduled to talk to Steve Sarkisian Monday Missouri City, Texas - One of the most recent offers by the Texas Longhorns in the 2025 cycle is scheduled to talk to Steve Sarkisian Monday. Hightower (Texas) High defensive back Kade Phillips was offered by safeties coach and area recruiter Blake Gideon Sunday. It was an offer Phillips and family had been waiting on for a few weeks. "The Texas offer meant a lot to me," Phillips told OnTexasFootball. "Texas is a big school, big culture and it meant a lot. It felt great. Coach Gideon came to see me multiple times. He came to track practice, came by the field house multiple times just to talk. Texas is going to be up there. Up there." Now that the Longhorns have offered the 6-1, 178 pound versatile defensive back with an 80 inch wingspan and 10 inch hands, Phillips and Sarkisian are scheduled to begin their relationship developing part of the process. "I'm talking to the staff every day. We set up a phone call Coach Sark on Monday. We are going to get on the phone and chop it up. Coach Gideon wants me to get on the phone with him (Sark), and just begin to build that relationship." Phillips attended Texas Junior day January 20. He has been on campus multiple times in the last year, including a game visit in 2023. Texas A&M and LSU the main competition Phillips is the younger brother of former Texas A&M linebacker signee Kenneth Phillips, who had his career cut short after a devastating knee injury his senior season. He remains a student at Texas A&M. Kade Phillips was back on campus in College Station January 27 for Junior Day. "Coach (Mike) Elko just wants everybody to be part of the recruitment. Not just your position coach, but all of the coaches. He wants it to be one big family. They offered me at corner, but like my versatility. Wherever the team needs me is what they said." Phillips will make his first ever trip to LSU this spring. It's a visit that will be very key in the recruitment. "I'm in contact with Coach (Corey) Raymond every day. He's just checking in on me, seeing how I'm doing. I just know it's LSU. Big facility, big program. It will be a big visit fore me when I go down there." Arkansas, Oregon, Baylor and Kansas as schools also making runs right now. Phillips plans to commit either late in the spring, or after June official visits.

  11. Just me, but you have top have a mix. Player development is still vital IMO... Xavier Worthy was a 4-star WR, for what it's worth. Some people had Ryan Wingo as a 4-star
  12. You mean state of Texas? For sure. There were 17 EE's in the 2024 class ... the guys that didn't EE chose not to. I think it's being maximized as much as possible right now.
  13. Think that's where all of this headed too
  14. Bigger frame, going to be a stronger runner between the tackle at P5 level. Jordon is 5-11, 205'ish right now. Will be that 220-225 pound back with very good feet between the tackles. Stewart is going to be a 205-210 pound slasher type that can get to the second level quickly. He's 185 right now, but has good frame development in front of him.
  15. Here's what is fun ... watch Kelvin Banks sophomore tape at Summer Creek ... look at how far he has come... Turntine III is better than Banks at same age with longer arms. http://www.hudl.com/v/2NVJKv
  16. Good eyes! Nate Palmer signed with TCU ... Decatur RB. Very soli d plsyer. Dad is on staff at Decatur High.
  17. Think that's more of an NFL thing if he gets that far IMO. He doesn't have elite arm talent ... but neither did Bryce Young and a number of others. In the college game, he can make all the throws having seen him in person multiple times.
  18. For sure... and I bet someone else moves into Saraland High. Their success level normal sees a kid or two move in annually.
  19. I can say this ... I think there would definitely be enough support for a spring CFB league ... ESPN, Fox, etc... would probably like it. It would fit in with where CFB is going with the 14 team playoff, and quite a few bowl games likely going away due to it.
  20. He will be over 800 carries coming out of HS if he plays 14-16 games in 2024, if not 900. That's a lot for sure.
  21. Haven't see times on him. He's a TE all the way IMO. He will be a 225-230 pound guy leaving HS unless his natural development slows
  22. Texas will recruit Moore #ThroughTheWhistle ... I will be surprised if he's not on campus at some point. Mom is from Austin, and they have family living in Austin.
  23. 2022 - Ryan Williams caught 88 ... KJ had 200 completions. 2023 - Ryan Williams caught 72 ... KJ had 219 completions
  24. He's definitely in contact with guys like WR Kaliq Lockett. Who is expected to visit in April ... take a guess at the date likely lol
  25. I'm on record saying the best football prospects in the state whether 2024, 2025 or 2026 is North Crowley's 2026 LT John Turntine III http://www.hudl.com/v/2LmZb0
