Pretty sure beard only inherited a handful of guys. Cunningham, Ramey, Jones and Febres are the only ones I can remember sticking around. Texas had a something like 8 transfers, most of which were intended to have a major role Miller clearly just took a handful of guys from Xavier then lazily got the rest while he enjoyed nights out with his wife at Sammie’s and Commodore Perry

Of those teams, maybe Florida has the spending power of Texas. Maybe. if those other teams can outspend Texas with ease, then it’s clear Texas has not prioritized basketball under cdc and never will. Hence why he should be sidelined when they hire the next replacement after this dud is fired and pockets millions in the process.

Lol no. I thought Sean miller was going to come into the richest athletic dept in the nation and craft a team in the top 60 in year one. Don’t think that’s asking too much

Yet each of the last 5 head coaches at Texas made the ncaa tournament their first year. Seems like miller is intent on setting all sorts of the wrong kind of history in his inaugural season

Unfortunately texas has lost plenty already. And it was the second-easiest game on the schedule can you find even 6 sec wins in the next 17 games? That would match their output from last year. tbh, I don’t think they win more than 4 league games this season. The top half of the league will do unspeakable things to these poor kids

So Texas put nil behind Rodney Terry but not Sean Miller? Because if they’re working with the same, then that’s even worse for Miller. To be this far behind RT is an indictment

Well they’re now $32 million in the hole for a coach that just showed us that he’s never taking Texas anywhere while he’s here, so maybe we sideline CDC for the next basketball hire when Miller inevitably flames out

Laugh now. I’ll be here after Texas makes the tournament once in the next 4 years and Texas has to fire him to hire an assistant from Texas state as the program continues to spiral

All of those guys earned the right to get those jobs. Many recognized Golden as a future prodigy. Hurley had done wonders with Rhode Island. Nobody was after Sean miller. It’s honestly embarrassing that Texas went from sweet 16 being the bare minimum with Rick to being the 6th best program in its own state A&M is the only other team with a first-year head coach in the sec this year. They’re 11-3 and actually look competent and will likely make the tournament. Sadly, they’re probably also going to break the streak of losing in Austin this season as Texas will be lucky to win 3 sec games this season (they won 6 last year with a verifiably better HC)

The last Texas coach to miss the tournament in his first year was Bob Weltlich in 1983. This is a new low for Texas basketball To not at least make the top 64 teams with the resources Texas has is almost an impressive level of failure sorry, but agree to disagree. CDC lit millions on fire with this dud

CDC just doesn’t have it for hiring basketball coaches First he hired a strangler. Then replaced him with an interim that was obviously in over his head. Then he paid that interim $9 million to leave to hire a coach nobody else was trying to hire only to miss the NIT in year 1
