  1. True, Goosby's of the world are the prime example of developing. But if he was a member of the 2025 class, for example, does Texas retain him? or do they cut him loose to open up funds for ready-now players?
  2. Remember this in three weeks. I don’t think you’ll say the same thing about the OL. We’ll see!
  3. My point wasn't about finding upgrades FROM Oregon. It was that Oregon is losing more OL than Texas, so they'll be more desperate to land transfer portal OL.
  4. I didn’t know where to put this but here’s a talk by Indiana HC Curt Cignetti talking about his coaching career.
  5. Black struggles in man coverage with faster guys. I don’t see him carrying slots down the field. If you want a big nickel for run support Biles ans Smith are both Will backers. You got Wardell Mack, and maybe even Cunningham.
  6. I’m curious how Muschamp is going to deploy Biles and Ty’Anthony because they both strike me as Will backers, but they get paid to do that and I don’t, so HookEm!
  7. You are right, but even out bidding Michigan does not guarantee his signature. Look at what happened with the Michigan offensive lineman.
  8. If they GOT both, they’d have one of the best duo of LB’s in the country, and I have a strong suspicion Ty’Anthony Smith is going to ball out this next year.
  9. I’d argue the Cal LB is more needed because he plays Mike, which they don’t even have one of on the roster currently until the Florida St. backer becomes a Longhorn. The Pitt LB is very good! I’m not saying he’s bad. I’d love to have both! But if you asked me which one I’d want Uluave. Ty’Anthony will play the Will/Dime backer in Muschamp’s scheme, but we need a starter-level Mike to play between the tackles. The Florida St backer will likely back up whoever starts at Mike, hence, why Uluave is more important in my opinion.
  10. What kind of pen are they using to sign? That’s the question.
  11. We got two commitments. They aren’t flashy names, and I’ll grant you that, but they are both at positions of need.
  12. Since when does Adrian Peterson have any eligibility??
  13. Clark and Sark talked today. Things seem more positive.
  14. He might not have as high of an upside as Barnes, but that is an upgrade in terms of experience.
  15. @Bobby Burton what do you think of the running back that you alluded to in the mods only thread?
  16. Any chances of another Texas portal commitment today??
  17. We got the Oregon State OL. Nice.
  18. This isn't big for Texas. You don't want a blue-chipper on the payroll unless he is also on the playing field. He's not going to beat out Goosby and I doubt he is ready to start at RT for Texas in 2026.
  19. I agree with Bobby here. They are not only two different players, but also an outside WR really stresses a defense more than an inside WR. Think of the best WR's in the NFL: Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Nico Collins, etc. Toney is awesome. He'd raise the floor and ceiling of the WR room, but an outside threat would make this offense go. We had an outside threat in 23 (Mitchell) and 24 (Golden), but not 25, and look at the results.
  20. Ae these portal visits not supposed to be at least two days? @CJ Vogel Or are portal visits generally one day? And any additional day is seen as a potentially positive sign for the school hosting the recruit? @Gerry Hamilton
  21. For those who are disappointed about Kobe Black leaving...why? He didn't do much at Texas. Losing a guy that struggled to contribute despite two seasons on campus is not a loss. Players leaving a crowded room is also a sign of a healthy program, not the opposite. Texas is moving towards man coverage corners, Kobe Black struggled to turn his hips and run with guys. This opens up spots and cap for proven guys elsewhere on the roster. This is a good thing.
  22. They are two different backers to me. Biles is more Will/Dime backer that will run sideline to sideline. Hill is bigger (taller and heavier).
  23. It would be, yeah. Biles would play the Will/Dime backer that Ty'Anthony Smith and Tyler Atkinson both profile to, so Biles and Smith would compete for the starting job, but I bet Texas would sub a lot, so both would get reps regardless. Uluave profiles to the Mike backer position.
