    I had academic issues so I had to stop after my sophomore year to focus on school. I was 04-06. My pops was a capt of the ‘81 team, my sister capt for 3 years from 04-07 and my brother was a capt of the ‘10 team. Mom was a Bevo Babe back when my Dad was there as well. The swim team cheer group. I was without a doubt the black sheep.

    As I super-chatted the other day during coffee and football, Bowman had a very good shot at being the first of the new hires with a natty. Texas is always great and he wasn’t walking into a dead team or mass exodus, however, learning what all the guys needed to line up tapers and set relays etc is very difficult to do in a coach’s first season. He won the natty with ASU last year, basically didn’t even fly back with them and came straight to Texas. If they hold on, this will be an amazing accomplishment and I’ll be ecstatic that he is holding onto the winning culture the team has built up since Ed came over from Auburn in the 70s. Bowman was maybe the only coach out there that could realistically follow in Eddie’s shoes. LFG! Hook’em!!!

    I can’t be the only one that noticed, but on that QB list from today’s show, the ‘O’ used on the OU QB was actually a Zero haha. 0U vs OU. If someone on the OTF staff did that…well done, well done!

    My favorite moment off the field would have to be graduating. I came in as a dumb jock and had to learn that Texas was a lot harder than high school and had a lot of habits to change. It was looking fairly bleak there for awhile but I persevered and got that diploma!

    The closest I ever got to that 16hr mark was driving only at night and with an extended fuel tank so I only stopped once.

    @Gerry Hamilton My grandparents are from Greenville and I grew up in Austin. I’ve made that drive 3x/yr for 24 years. You aren’t making it in less than 17hrs and usually closer to 20 bc of traffic on I-20 or I-10 especially once you turn onto 85 around Atlanta.

    Mel Kiper has always been an idiot. His last mock had ONE Longhorn in the first round and I think it was Banks at like 28 or some crap. I adamantly believe that Kiper doesn’t actually watch these players. I think he uses name recognition and then a dart board to pick. So many better mocks out there. Not sure why he is still paraded around like an expert. I bet a casual college/nfl fan could piece together a better mock…

    No support monetarily?? So I guess Tre Johnson came for free?? He was kicking around semi-pro as well. The money had to at least be close if not more for him to forgo that. As good of a story the E8 run was, we should’ve had an open hiring process with big time coaches. As you’ve said, We’re Texas! No need for us to avoid shooting for the fences and RT was never that hire. His past records have been mediocre everywhere. I know he is nice but unfortunately that doesn’t translate to consistent wins, clearly.

    Idk the validity to this, but LSU posters said there is a loophole where all they have to do is unenroll and then reenroll at the new school and become immediately available. I think the precedent was set by that Wisconsin debacle earlier this year when they wouldn’t release a kid or something. Take it with a grain of salt though bc LSU fans haven’t been known to be the smartest or straight shooters anyway. Always doin shady stuff…

    I said nothing regarding what year. I’m well aware that he is staying multiple years. If it wasn’t evidence enough that he sat two years, all the jabber from his family would solidify it. The Saints need to start positioning now for a move like that. You can’t wait until the year the guy comes out. Have to start stockpiling picks and shedding bad contracts. They already said Carr will be there for at least this year.

    As a Saints fan, I’m happy with the hires so far. The organization is taking a blindingly different approach compared to the Dennis Allen led team so I’m as excited as I can be knowing the roster situation, but the future outlook is good once they get the right pieces. Tank for Arch and bring the Manning name back to the dome!

    Honestly, that wouldn’t matter for the likes of Zion Williamson and Brandon Brown. They would probably sit a year anyway for development.

    I’m no GM but I see a 0.1% chance an Outland LT drops out of the top 15, let alone all the way to the late 20s… I was about to make a Taylor Swift reference to whomever this draft belonged to, saw who’s it was, and decided that fruit was too low hanging.
