30 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 30?

He was indeed a childhood hero for many of us. He made that offense go. Many of his yards gained were by sheer will and toughness. -

Baxter will probably start getting snaps in the early part of conference play. -

30 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 30?
cochamps replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
We wouldn't have beaten ND for the National Championship game 1/1/70 without Worster. He gained 155 of the toughest yards I've ever seen. Notre Dame was much larger than UT (with few exceptions), sitting right behind the Longhorn Band, I could see the punishment he took & overcame. One helluva a performance, quite memorable to me. -

Here are some quick hitters from Thursday's practice, the second of training camp for the Texas Longhorns: — Wide receiver Ryan Wingo and offensive lineman DJ Campbell weren't at practice. There was no official word on the status of either Longhorn immediately after the window. With Wingo out, there was more work available for Emmett Mosley V and Jaime Ffrench, who caught the eyes of the OTF staff today. With that said, Parker Livingstone made his presence felt without Wingo on the field, catching a few deep balls from Arch Manning late in the viewing window. Steve Sarkisian was vocal in his approval of Livingstone's performance on Thursday. Along the offensive line, Connor Robertson was elevated to the No. 1 center with Campbell's absence forcing Cole Hutson to right guard. Trevor Goosby, Neto Umeozulu and Brandon Baker rounded out the first-team line. Jaydon Chatman (left tackle), Nate Kibble (left guard), Daniel Cruz (center), Connor Stroh (right guard) and Andre Cojoe (right tackle) made up the second group. — Cornerback Kade Phillips and safety Jonah Williams were held out again today. Sarkisian said after Wednesday's practice that both true freshmen are dealing with hamstring issues. — Lavon Johnson is still limited and had his left ankle heavily taped for the second consecutive practice. Hero Kanu and Alex January led the interior defensive linemen through drills, but Travis Shaw was noticeable on Thursday. The North Carolina transfer was limited in the spring while recovering from a knee injury. Shaw, Cole Brevard and Maraad Watson had solid days among the guys in Kenny Baker's group. I'd expect this year to be the Wisner + Clark show, with some backup carries for Gibson and Simon, especially in games 2-4. Gibson and Simon both probably have a chance in those three pre-Florida games to earn the coaches trust and get more carries the rest of the season. Baxter is a luxury item. I'm not sure you go into this season relying on him for any of it, but he'd be great to have during that November slate. -
I thought about this today as well, still have not received anything. I'm about to contact my credit card for review. They are on the Texas One Fund page so I imagine there's some sort of partnership there, but to date I've been really disappointed. Complete lack of communication.

If the Texas defense is as position flexible as advertised they will be in great shape. Corners flexing to safety or nickel, safety flexing to LB spots, LB flexing to DE, DE spinning inside to DL or outside Backer. Combine that with the talent to pressure the QB from multiple spots on any given play. The biggest question for me is will PK allow his playmakers more opportunities to get after the QB. IMO Texas needs to be more aggressive with blitz packages especially the first 1/4 of the season so the secondary with all the new guys can get settled. Loosing Baron and Makuba will be a huge hole to fill. They have the talent but how long will it take for them to gel? Cant wait for the season to start. Hook Em!!

If we learned anything from Tyreese Haliburton...

He's a difference maker in the sense that Florida doesn't have much real talent on the roster and anyone with a drip of talent is going to look like a fully turned on faucet. He a Milroe are very similar as I'm on record saying. They are great running around and playing backyard football, but ask them to get the ball out and on schedule and they are meh.

Part of that is how the college game records rushing yardage. Sacks go against rushing totals. Whereas in the NFL, sacks are separated from rushing yardage. You see way more college QBs finishing with even net negative rushing yard totals.
