  1. Past hour
  2. Broncos fan. They seem to like him a lot. But not as much as Stidham. Hope he makes second team eventually.
  3. If you limit it to pro sports, you have to also talk about MJ, Tom Brady, Tiger, and to a lesser extent, LeBron (not trying to have the MJ/LeBron debate) and Mahomes. If you are pulling in non-pro sports, you have to talk about Michael Phelps. That’s a benchmark that nobody may ever clear.
  4. Auburn is seriously due …if they care enough
  5. My (losing) Winning picks: LSU 31-23, South Carolina 24-21, A+M 31-17, Georgia 27-21, Miss st 23-16, Bama 41-28, Auburn 20-17.
  6. Texas 34 Kentucky 10
  7. Ohtani may wind up being the GOAT of all sports. I used to read a lot of stat books, and this is a bit like comparing apples and oranges but the reference above about Babe Ruth reminded me of an interesting stat of his that demonstrated his skills compared to others at the time. Not only was he a great pitcher early on, but after being traded from Boston (where he still may hold some records) he played the field for the Yankees. Regarding his homeruns- Babe Ruth hit more home runs in a single season than every other team in his league multiple times. For example, in 1921, he hit 59 home runs and out-homered every other team in the American League. In 1927, he hit 60 home runs and also out-homered all other teams. Guess how many hundreds of homeruns in a season a current player would have to hit to have hit more than every team in the league? Well, this year the Yankees hit 274 in the AL and the Dodgers hit 244. If Ohtani went on the juice maybe he could do it too. 🤣
  8. Those strikeouts were filthy. I counted 2 in the zone, he got the Brewers swinging at anything.
  9. Big games mean more. End of story. No one cares when an SEC team beats Samford or Troy. It proves nothing.
  10. As good as Ali was it's pretty crazy that 188 pound rocky Marciano went 49-0. P4P arguably the best to ever do it. If Rocky had been 6'5 230 he'd probably have decapitated somebody. Was before my time but Jim Thorpe and Ted Williams were spectacular in many areas. Many argue Jim Brown was better at lacrosse than he was at football. My grandfather saw him dominate Lacrosse for Syracuse at Holy Cross.
  11. He’s headed down the Colt McCoy/Chase Daniel path in the NFL, which is a great gig if you can get one.
  12. once there are guaranteed slots in the CFP for big10 and SEC, this may not be as important. if of the 16 playoff teams, 4 are SEC and 4 are Big 10, then a 3 loss SEC team will make it and have a chance.
  13. SEC slate: 10 LSU at 17 Vandy at 11 central on ABC 14 Oklahoma at South Carolina at 11:45 on SECN 4 Texas A&M at Arkansas at 2:30 on ESPN … weather delays very likely 5 Ole Miss at 9 Georgia at 2:30 on ABC Mississippi State at Florida in Billy Napier’s goodbye at 2:45 on SECN 11 Tennessee at 6 Alabama at 6:30 on ABC 16 Missouri at Auburn at 6:45 on SECN
  14. One of my favorite longhorns. He will succeed in life after football.
  15. I had to go look at the box score to ensure that was in 1 game and not the series. WOW 👀, yes no question that’s the greatest performance I’ve ever heard of.
  16. MJ, Ali and Ruth(he was a pitcher too). Then I go to Bo Jackson. He was good enough to be a hall of famer in two sports.
  17. Today
  18. I also thought I read last year that the incoming class was a top 5 class. While the expectation wouldn't be championship, I agree it shouldn't have fallen off the cliff.
  19. This report says the Broncos do indeed plan on signing Sam to the practice squad:
  20. Sam Ehlinger was released by the Broncos on Friday, but this report indicates he could be brought back as early as today:
  21. 6-4, 210, throws 100-102MPH and can move ... would have been tried at QB 1, 2, and 3
  22. Left out with 3 losses? Thems the breaks.
  23. Gerry, if Ohtain played football, what position would he play?
  24. Brady, Jordan, Gretzky, Chamberlain, Jim Brown, Ruth, Ohtani and probably a few others could be added to the rare air up there. Incredible performance for the Los Angeles Allstars.
  25. Yes, we need laws to protect owners from making business decisions. Also, let’s have congress set caps on player compensation in college football while allowing for eight figure buyouts for coaches not to coach. Sorry, but I believe in free enterprise.
  26. It’s been an odd qb year, I feel like the Major programs are weaker at QB compared to some of the “smaller” programs.
