1. When it comes to our pass rush, it is your OTs that will have their hands full. Your most successful pass blocker versus us last year is gone. We have considerable experience and talent there. We’ve lost guys 3 years running on the defensive interior. We coach it well. 2. Our guys have practiced against 1st rounders themselves. Played your guys too. 3. Statistically they are very similar. Mocks. We shall see how that turns out. As to your depth, if they are the typical OSU TEs, then that doesn’t move the needle. 4. Moore has the best single performance outside of Smith. Wingo has multiple 50 yard plus plays. You know somebody is putting up yards. I get it. Limited experience, but they went up against the best secondary daily last year. 5. Here is what you haven’t seen out of our DTs. You haven’t seen them in our environment. You can’t double them because our other units will bury you. We’ve got lots of them. We can mix and match for relative strengths. It’s a bit tbd but to assume you’ll win there is more let’s wait and see from my perspective. Do not be surprised if our offensive gameplan is more focused with more surprises than what you saw in Dallas. If the line holds up, that may create some opportunities.

Also, not in Katy, but if you want some of the best ribs you have ever had, go to Pinkerton's BBQ. You won't regret the drive. Plus, Owner is a massive Horns fan.

All of these are within 15 minutes of I-10 and 99 in Katy. There are many more great spots, but these were the last ones we hit up before moving away. Brett's BBQ Shop (near Katy Mills Mall), Roegels Barbecue Katy (I-10) Sapore Detroit Pizzeria (off 99 near I-10) Sul Bing Su (Korean street food - Korean hot dogs and ice cream) 8 ounce Korean Steakhouse (Korean BBQ) Lupe Tortilla (Best beef fajitas in TX; Three pepper cheese steak if you're feeling frisky)

Wanted to put in one place a laundry list of takeaways from today's media availability with Arch Manning, Anthony Hill Jr., and Michael Taaffe. *** Arch – 2 Years at Texas? An answer from the Texas quarterback is making the rounds in NFL Twitter and Draft circles. Earlier in August, Archie Manning told Texas Monthly that Arch would be in school as the starting quarterback for two years, without question. Here is a blurb from the article: Arch responded to a question about his grandfather's comments today with the local media: “Yeah I don’t know where he got that from. He texted me and apologized about that. I’m really just taking it day by day right now.” Still, the belief is that Manning is at Texas for two years. ... My favorite part of the availability today was hearing that Archie ends every phone call with Arch by telling him the same thing: "Get down, or get out of bounds." *** Xavier Filsaime Emergence Anthony Hill Jr. was asked which youngsters were really beginning to make their presence felt in fall camp – he answered with Graceson Littleton and Xavier Filsaime. We have heard Littleton's name often, but Filsaime has really started to catch on over the last week or so. As a result, I asked Michael Taaffe what he has seen from his fellow defensive back. "He has been doing really, really well," Taaffe said of Filsaime. "Well I mean, he is a 10.5-10.6 guy in the 100m to start coming out of high school. So that helps, one. But, two, he has grown his game mentally so much from freshman to sophomore year. When you put the athletic ability with the mental side, it clicks and he is scary." Filsaime has been noted as a great communicator in practice so far in fall camp. *** Favorite Quote of the Day Comes from Anthony Hill Jr., who said he loves playing on the road because seeing home fans filter out of the stadium when Texas is in position to close out games is one of his favorite things to see. Hill has never lost a road game as a Longhorn. Additional Nuggets – Anthony Hill Jr. says that the Texas defense is getting tested often with the legs of Manning in team situations. – Michael Taaffe mentioned that there are plenty of days where the defense wins and days where Arch and the offense ends up getting the better of the defense. There is a fine balance and both sides are improving as a result. – Arch Manning said WR Ryan Wingo had an incredible reception in practice this morning and that the last two weeks of practice have been some of his best as a Longhorn on the practice field. Manning also singled out Parker Livingstone and Daylan McCutcheon as two young guys that have really grown this offseason. – Communication in the secondary remains a focal point, but has grown into a strength. Michael Taaffe barely had a voice strong enough to speak with the media in his time with us this morning. Taaffe credits continuity in the coaching staff with Pete Kwiatkowski being the DC for all five years for why everything has moved smoothly with the additions of Mark Orphey and Duane Akina. – Taaffe mentioned Kaliq Lockett had a really solid scrimmage on Saturday. – Anthony Hill Jr. says the Longhorns still use the way the last two seasons have ended as motivation this offseason. “We think about it. How could you not think about losing those games back to back? But then again, we want to focus day by day and not think about the National Championship. We’ve got to go win week one before we go think about winning week 16.”

If he’s anywhere close to being that good, Texas wins it all.

Hey Here for the Wins, thank you for you comment and I’ll give my opinions on each one of your comments 1. I believe Ohio State will have one of the best offensive lines in the country because they return all 3 of their IOL starters from last season as well as their top two backups. Aside from that, the tackles have reportedly played very well in fall camp. Also, Ohio State has invested heavily in the OL coaching staff this off season, which I believe is the largest OL staff in CFB. 2. Ohio State’s CB’s and safeties go up against Ohio State’s wide receivers every day in practice. They won’t face better receivers than what they see on the daily. Carnell Tate was highly sought after by Brian Hartline, so that tells me all I need to know about Tate. 3. As for the TE room, it’s not just Max Klare. That room goes 4 deep with legitimate P4 starters, but I have seen Max Klare on several first round mock drafts, I haven’t seen Endries on any mock drafts. 4. I could be undervaluing the wide receivers but how would I know when they’ve never done it before? 5. I’m very confident in Ohio State’s OL against Texas’ DL. Especially because I’m not expecting UT’s DT’s to be dominant and the IOL is Ohio State’s strength.

Texas is going to absolutely destroy Ohio State on both sides of the LOS. Sayin will be extremely fortunate to leave this game under his own power. I will be very surprised if Kleinholz isn’t the QB in the second half. Buckeye running game is going to be a massive weakness all season. Everyone is going to bracket Smith and win against the run while the undersized and beat up Sayin struggles to stay in games. Buckeye DL is the weakest it has been in living memory, if camp reports suggest they are improving then the Buckeye OL is even worse than we thought. Michigan 2024 redux.

Said he went to watch a practice and that “Arch is as close to or maybe as good as Joe (Borrow) that I’ve ever seen”. Never said that about anyone else.”

Exactly why is your Oline one of the best? Wingo likely has the best size/speed combo of any WR your guys have seen this year or last. The wonderful C Tate has 5 career TDs, 2 versus Northwestern. He has 3 games with 6 or more catches at approximately 10 yards per catch there. His numbers will undoubtedly go up, but he’s yet to produce big plays. He versus Moore is a virtual push. I am not sure Klare is markedly different than Endries. Seems as though you are undervaluing the Wngo/Moore/Endries group. It will come down to who wins more often upfront. I believe you will see a different level of pass rush from us this year than you did last. You were not dominant in the run games against our D. I don’t see that differently this year. It certainly could come down to who breaks some unexpected big plays.
