  1. Past hour
  2. That Miami o-line looked really good. Their edge rushers all pretty good too. Thing with them is that they find a way to be inconsistent. I'm certainly wait and see on LSU in the trenches. Clemson's o-line is average, and their defense was horrible last year. How much better is the Clemson defense this year?
  3. Osu may certainly have problems.. though I am not sold on our OL yet either. They protected reasonably well but there were some bad mental plays such as the last 4th down. Also we were running into a light box so how good is the running game when in the red zone the run game disappears. That 4th in goal was just terrible form on a qb sneak.
  4. Miami and LSU won’t stay ranked that high for long. They’ll find a way to lose 2 to 5 games as usual.
  5. If Manning completes those easy throws to Moore and Wingo the narrative is also completely different. We did more to lose that game than OSU did to win it. We have correctible mistakes, OSU has a serious LOS problem.
  6. I think had our punter not flipped the field the would have hade more offense. However they never generated a consistent running game against our d. Sayin was accurate but was never in any urgent state to make something happen. On the flip side smith dropped balls he will not the rest of the year. Had we punched the 4th in 1 in, the narrative on these 2 teams could be quite different.
  7. The question is if the players can adjust to a wide range of game plans week to week. Downs can, but maybe not everyone. Again, historically college players can't really do that. They need a consistent base defense. Maybe the inverted Tampa is the base defense, but offenses will know if that's the case. For most teams it won't matter because OSU is simply better.
  8. Both Penn State and Michigan will both be good tests for that OL. They got little push all game.
  9. Mr. Sioux Falls is not an SEC caliber HC.
  10. Man, I didn't expect the AP writers to do it, but I give them credit. They dropped Alabama completely out, which they should have. That defense just looked awful. Alabama might have hired another from the DuBose, Franchione, Shula tree as opposed to Bryant, Stallings, or Saban.
  11. Criminals better wake-up. Their o-line was horrible and ILL ST ran really well against them. If they play like that against Michigan, they'll get dog walked up and down the field.
  12. Glad to hear it, hope the fans were hospitable and not arseholes. Look forward to heading to Austin in a year.
  13. Patricia is an NFL guy, He will change the look week to week based on what type of offense he is facing. Plus I think he knows a thing or two about changing tendency so as to not be predictable.
  14. It will be interesting to see how Patricia handles the defense throughout the season. There was a lot of talk about "disguised coverages," but they only actually disguised coverage about 30% I think. They basically played single high inverted Tampa as their base defense. That's what Sark explained to Arch at half-time. Texas ran well in the third, and Arch was able to move it through the air in the fourth. In college, you generally can't tailor a defense weekly as you can in the NFL because the players aren't experienced enough. Patricia had all off season for this one game.
  15. Cheers and thanks for the point of view. Had a great time up there despite the result! Good luck this season!
  16. It is actually shocking. Alabama has arguably more (or at least as much) talent than any other team, and a coach that was considered to be the best young coach in the business.
  17. Plus they played a power level opponent on the road and won comfortably. Much more impressive.
  18. Auburn probably deserves to be ranked. Certainly looked a lot better than the criminal sooners.
  19. Not just that. Texas went into the game not knowing what they will face defensively. It's on tape now, Michigan and Penn State will have a very good idea what they'll see. OSU may have been "vanilla" on offense, but so was Texas. Penn State and Michigan will have plenty to throw at that five man front.
  20. Tusacaloosa has fallen.
  21. Love it! The best breakdown of the game from an Arch perspective
  22. I mean, of course he will be fine. It was his first game as full time starter and it was against a top 5-10 defense most likely this year that has been a tough defensive team for years. People beating him up just don’t understand the game is about learning and improving. He isn’t a senior that’s been battle tested who happened to just fall off talent wise over the summer. it wasn’t the game we expected or wanted, sure but we should know it’s gonna be bumpy and he needs some time.
  23. Alabamas lowest ranking in 18 years. Wild.
  24. Texas is 6 in the Coaches Poll and 7 in the AP Poll. Coaches Poll: https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/ncaaf/coaches-poll AP Poll: https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll
  25. The Texas Longhorns fall to No. 7 in the latest AP Top 25. Meanwhile, it is Ohio State who moves up to the top spot in the country. Ohio State Penn State LSU Georgia Miami Oregon Texas Clemson Notre Dame South Carolina Illinois Arizona State Florida Florida State Michigan Iowa State SMU Oklahoma Texas A&M Ole Miss Alabama Tennessee Indiana Texas Tech Utah
