Not just that. Texas went into the game not knowing what they will face defensively. It's on tape now, Michigan and Penn State will have a very good idea what they'll see. OSU may have been "vanilla" on offense, but so was Texas. Penn State and Michigan will have plenty to throw at that five man front.

Love it! The best breakdown of the game from an Arch perspective -
I mean, of course he will be fine. It was his first game as full time starter and it was against a top 5-10 defense most likely this year that has been a tough defensive team for years. People beating him up just don’t understand the game is about learning and improving. He isn’t a senior that’s been battle tested who happened to just fall off talent wise over the summer. it wasn’t the game we expected or wanted, sure but we should know it’s gonna be bumpy and he needs some time.

As a Buckeye I will give my 2 cents. No I did not feel great about our offense, I do understand we called a very vanilla game plan for a first time starter to minimize the chances to turn the ball over. 1. Running game was less then desirable. 2. Passing game was anemic. 3. Texas is most likely the best defense we see all season. With that said, defense is always ahead of the offense this time of year. OSU has a couple cupcakes the next two weeks before we travel to Washington so I expect us to open it up quite a bit and give the Freshman QB some confidence that will come in handy for the late season push vs Illinois, Penn State & Michigan. Good luck to the Long Horns, Arch will be fine poor kid was being way over hyped, I can not imagine a tougher scenario Opponent and venue wise for any QB's first start then what he had.. He will end up being a great player.

The good news for OSU is that they really have only one big test left, and that's Penn State at home. They could of course lay another egg against Michigan. Their fanbase is gloating now, but those who look at the actual play rather than just the win are pointing to run defense and lack of run game on offense. They probably won't see a run defense as good as Texas until the playoffs.

Florida? Really?
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Do we really know what Florida is or isn't on the line of scrimmage? I love the sophomore running back he was a load last year. Dike one of the recievers from last year is on a NFL roster and has been solid in his reps. Where I disagree is that Lagway is a good qb, I haven't seen it is the reason. He may end up being really good, but I'm not going to credit that to him just yet. He throws the deep ball really well, but timing and touch isn't a strength foe him as of yet. So for me, I'm not looking at what he could or should be, bc he may never reach that. All I have is what he's shown. -
I came away thinking Sayin played well. The freedom they give him will only expand. But he was smart, he was on time and there was not a throw that I remember that was in harm's way. Again, they definitely had the trianing wheels on, but the throw to Inniss on the slot fade was spectacular and completed against just about any other team in the country. He had moments.

@Gerry Hamilton Do you think Shark will go back to basics for the next couple games? -
Do you feel great about your offense? They won and didn’t turn it over, so they get to avoid the introspective conversations we’re having. But did they not sputter just as much as we did? Statistically it seems they did. To the victor goes the spoils. Maybe they’re more easily able to chalk it up to Texas being the best defense they’re likely to face this season. Contrary to us, they handled business just enough to make it out clean and with the dub.

I'd agree. That said, I saw a stat that Baxter and Wisner averaged around 3 yards after contact against OSU. That's not bad.

Man i‘m not sure about this take at all. Florida has a good OL, a good DL, better WRs this year, a really good RB and a good QB if he’s healthy. And it’s at their place and they will be battle tested in the lead up games. I think it will be a close game that we can very easily lose if our QB doesn’t play better and our RBs continue to go down after first contact.

Both Florida lines have highly rated players...we will know a lot more about them after their next 3 games. We will know a lot more about Texas on how they play at Florida.

Florida? Really?
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I believe Florida has deeper tackles, but I like OSU everywhere else. I don't expect to get the same push against Florida, but the edges and secondary will have problems against us. We learned more about Texas against OSU than Florida did against LIU. There were so many broken tackles that led to explosives, and Florida place kicker should be called Auburn. -
I’m not afraid of Georgia with their QB. I’m more afraid of what we won’t do than I am what others might do to us.

Within striking distance. Five weeks for Sark to figure out how to get the most out of this offense. https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/rankings/coaches-poll-top-25-college-football-rankings-week-2-2025

My take maybe bad. Starkville is Rowdy, Akry is rowdy, College Station is rowdy, Athens is rowdy, the Cotton Bowl is rowdy. There is a YUGE difference tho, only one of those teams has the horses and roster to get it done. -
