"You never want to be on the losing side of a rivalry," Pope said.

Pope said defense was the issue in the second half. "I know we'll fix it and we'll be ready to go against Kentucky," he said.

Pope is confident that Texas can and will rebound from this loss.

Mark said that because the next game is at Kentucky, Texas can't afford to waste days. "We need to have a short memory," he said.

Pope said the Longhorns need to attack the next few days the way they did after the Tennessee loss. "As a point guard, I've got to do a better job of getting my guys ready," he said.

Mark felt Texas got the shots it wanted. "We can't ask for better looks than what we got," he said. "We've just got to make them."

The theme for Mark and Pope was how sloppy Texas was throughout the game, especially coming out of halftime.

Jordan Pope and Tramon Mark both said Texas came out sloppy to start the second half, for whatever reason, and the Longhorns never recovered.

Agree with you, but - the only thing that I can say is this: the mods on this site, and @Bobby Burton specifically, are diligent about keeping things here on an even keel. Texas has offered 2027 Smithson Valley QB Ty Knutson. Knutson is a familiar name to the board after appearing as a target towards the back end of the fall. He appeared on campus for the Arkansas game in late November and returns today where he received an offer from the Longhorns. As we know, QB offers are very precise from the Texas staff and Knutson appears to be their guy for 2027.
