  1. Past hour
  2. All im saying is wait until next year. Made no sense to run that experiment during Archs last year.
  3. this from Cj is what I'm referencing, not carrying 105. It's an aggressive change from what's worked for them in the past. I'm not confident it's right or wrong. But if you want evidence of "all-in", making aggressive changes (like firing PK too) are strong evidence of it.
  4. Texas isn't the only one doing this.
  5. @Joe Zura looking at the glass half full. Uh oh! 🤣
  6. Bad news for your client...
  7. Cutting down to an nfl sized roster. Bobby had been talking about it for a while. And CJ wrote an article on it the other day
  8. I have a trial I am preparing for on February 10....I need to get some work done - can we get 3-4 more commitments today so I can stop using the F5 key?
  9. Incentives probably aren't worked in enough to be honest. In a lot of instances, it is a signing bonus and flat salary.
  10. Question for the mods are these contracts like NFL contracts where there are incentives baked in? Something like: - X yards - X Touchdowns - X Receptions - Accolades (Heisman, Post Season Awards, All-American, SEC All-American) - Conference Champions - Playoff Appearance/Wins Feel like this would help with the guys who are expected to contribute like a Clark but asking for a pay raise. It keeps them motivated to work hard for the money.
  11. We’re going to end up with a B+ portal class, minimum. We’ve been aiming for A+. We’re in good shape.
  12. Can still sign. Also, the natty teams will get an additional few days to enter since the window will have closed before the game.
  13. Let's be real here. It's a huge red flag and the most important thing. It's not like we are at a 50% hit rate on our main targets at positions of need. It's 0%. And it's clearly not NIL. This sample size points to a real problem in the org. It's one or a combo of the following: - we aren't prioritizing the right targets: Brand Harris's fault. - we are convincing the players to sign: coaches and Brandon Harris's fault. Sure, we can point to other schools struggling in the portal but not everyone is going 0'fer on their main targets, they are having some level of success. And for a school like Texas that has a huge NIL backing, the hit rate like this is unacceptable. There can't be excuses at this point for Texas coaches and staff. Either you can handle portal recruiting or you need to get out of the program.
  14. I don’t think it’s that concerning. Michigan just hit a HR with Whittingham. If they chose poorly we’d have probably got them.
  15. I love you the most producer Matthew
  16. Would agree if they went elsewhere as opposed to staying home.
  17. What they are doing isn't any different than most programs. Look at the numbers teams like LSU, Georgia, Bama are bringing in from the portal. They won't be fully utilizing the 105 scholarships either.
  18. I 100% agree with this. If we can’t convince guys to want to play for Texas without significantly overpaying them, then it’s clear we don’t have good recruiters on staff.
  19. That's even more concerning. They don't want to come here so badly that some are turning down significantly bigger offers?
  20. I thought Brunner had all but committed to Indiana
  21. yeah grad transfers can go then. just a wild ass guess but that's when I expect an experienced depth QB to be added tbh
  22. IT is reporting Brunner is visiting today. Idk if that’s true. I trust this site much more.
  23. Atleast Now we know early on which team will be caught holding the bag 🤷🏻‍♂️
  24. Seems like we are less focused on retention, we might intentionally carry fewer scholarship players to have more money to fund the 2-3 deep directly. Less money on developmental guys than in the past. Which probably means bigger portal needs going forward. It seems like a step towards the Indiana/Ole Miss philosophy or an NFL philosophy. Since most of us think we were just 3-4 players away last year (RB, 2OL, and maybe a true no.1 WR), this is a relatively aggressive strategy of change more than a tweak. The guys have been saying all-in and this change does seem aggressive not cautious. And it's on top of letting PK go. Can't say it's bad or good yet IMO.
