  1. Past hour
  2. He will be limited physically at the beginning of fall camp. Definitely a redshirt candidate. On top of his knee rehab, the weight room is going to be a huge focal point in year one.
  3. Recruiting fireworks today ! Gird your loins everybody ! 🤣
  4. Swap Tennessee and South Carolina imo
  5. If you are talking about contracts, it’s because that has been reported pretty much everywhere. You sign a contract and are paid for your services. How do you get out of a signed contract? I am actually waiting to see what happens once a player tries to break a contract in December. At the very least, the school losing the player has to be compensated. Who pays them back? If it’s the player, what happens if he has blown the money? That would mean Texas (for example), has to pay that school back and then still have to give that player NIL for coming to Texas. It would mean Texas has to pay even more money then they had previously declined to pay to a player. That’s not going to happen.
  6. Broke schools were upset that their cheating days were over
  7. FACTS! People need understand that you just can't throw money around without causing an imbalance on your team. Some of these teams are going to FAFO in couple of years on bad roster management 😳 😬!
  8. We discussed this on Coffee and Football this morning, but I wanted to bring the convo here as well. Phil Steele has released his preseason SEC rankings and the Longhorns are No. 1. However, the chat (along with @Bobby Burton and @Gerry Hamilton) had a lot to say about the rest of the list. What do you think?
  9. Everybody wants assurances if they pay money to anyone.
  10. Anyone know how Smith Orogbo is healing up? Haven’t heard a word about him in a while. Carlton and Wesley both seem like strong side DE… but maybe they are interchangeable.
  11. Smart roster management is the key. If players want to go live on a desert island with their bag(s)… so be it.
  12. This is so fatiguing. We’re 10 minutes into a new era and I’ve already read a lifetime of fretting, complaining, and doomsdaying. Same thing happened with nil. Other teams jumped “ahead” and started getting kids. Folks complained we’ll never compete because we’re mostly above board. What did Texas do? Waited, researched, learned, and then put together an elite nil approach that served us very well. Thank goodness we have smart, measured, patient, and purposeful leaders to navigate this landscape as well. And oh, the goal is to whip everyone in every sport so miss me with the sky is falling. Texas, if leadership so chooses, will always be top 3-5 because they have every lever at their disposal to pull while doing it right. It’s not patience. It’s intentional prudence. 🤘🏽
  13. Today
  14. It's become a business and roster management is very key, another aspect is, if you give a bunch of money to a recruit, the current players look at it and say, I think I'm worth more than that - so come portal time, they could demand more money or hit the portal. It's a very delicate process, which I'm glad I'm not responsible for.

  16. The greatest American tradition of them all begins in about an hour!
  17. When does Joey ‘Jaws’ Chestnut eat 72 hot dogs? @Jeff Howe
  18. We’ve mentioned it before, but Texas took Richard Wesley’s commitment to fill the need for a bigger-bodied versatile EDGE in the class.
  19. A&M, Texas isn’t pushing for this one right now either.
  20. Is it safe to assume this is a good sign? Who was the leader coming into today?
  21. Still see a top 5 level class. Texas will likely be ranked anywhere from 6-9 when the ball is kicked to begin the 2025 season, and Texas' class will have a lot of runway
