I disagree. When NFL fixed adjusted salaries for draft picks and nil came into play this is a whole new monster. You get a 3 year guarantee for 7.5 with incentives to hit 11-15 million like Mark Bowman it's a no brainer to sign. Life changing money. What NFL signing money? You need to hit a second contract sooner without open negotiations as a draft pick.

I just stumbled upon Texas one fund YouTube page. I had no idea it existed. They have some fantastic long form interviews with the likes of Ant, Simmons, KJ, CJ, Arch, Moore. Looks like they just started releasing the videos a few days ago. If you haven’t year check it out, a great look at personalities of players I haven’t seen anywhere else.

Close to half of all five star recruits aren't even drafted into the NFL and some of those drafted are taken in the later rounds, where the guaranteed money is relatively paltry. What is Quinn's deal with the Dolphins worth? I can remember a couple of # 1 overall recruits who didn't even make it to the league. Once an NIL deal goes much over say $2 million you're talking about real money.

Not totally sure how the house settlement works for 2026 recruits. I believe if contracts are written before July 1st you can throw out all “pay for play” deal that doesn’t have to adhere to the house settlement. If that is the case A$M may have offered him too good of package to pass up.

A&M is falling into the same trap they’ve done time & time again. Sometimes (in A&M’s case all the time) it’s not worth breaking the bank on a recruit like that.

If sark REALLY wants him, I’d be suprised if he doesn’t end up a longhorn. We’ll see what happens, but I do really hope we land him by signing day.
