  2. Here's the recap of Friday's game, courtesy of Texas baseball SID Josh White: Second baseman Ethan Mendoza drove in four runs, as No. 2 Texas took the series opener over Kentucky, 6-3, on Friday evening at Kentucky Pride Park. Mendoza delivered a go-ahead two-run double in the seventh before plating a pair of tallies in the eighth to propel the Longhorns (28-4, 12-1 SEC) to their ninth consecutive conference win. After totaling a career-best five RBI on Tuesday, Texas' leadoff man has now driven in nine runs across two games this week. Mendoza's timely swings proved pivotal for the Longhorns, who used three arms to limit Kentucky (18-13, 5-8 SEC) to just one extra-base hit. Hurlers Jared Spencer, Max Grubbs and Dylan Volantis combined to strike out 14 Wildcats, one shy of Texas' season high. Spencer notched seven punchouts across 4 2/3 innings of one-run baseball. Grubbs (5-0) picked up where the Longhorns' ace left off, recording six strikeouts over 3 1/3 frames. Meanwhile, Volantis (8) tossed a 1-2-3 ninth, sealing the victory with a punchout. In the win, four Longhorns mounted multi-hit efforts, including catcher Rylan Galvan. Galvan added an insurance tally with an RBI single in the three-run eighth after a double in the third. The junior would come around to score the night's first run on a single from shortstop Jalin Flores. Texas will look to secure its fifth straight SEC series on Saturday, as the Longhorns and Wildcats meet at 11 a.m. CT.
  3. I had family obligations on Friday and couldn't do the normal game thread. The Longhorns won the Friday game over the Wildcats in Lexington, 6-3. The second game of the series is underway.
  4. Aggys are an embarrassment to SEC . They should removed. Replaced with Clemson.
  5. Nico will be cancer regardless where he plays next season. He isn’t a team player.
  6. I respect Tennessee for cutting ties and not continuing to be held hostage/. Seeing these stories of money grabbing, no loyalty, low character, makes me appreciate Arch and his family for Arch’s character, patience, loyalty and ‘team first’ mindset even more. Hope this story sends message to other kids and parents they need to stop and think twice before calling other schools. We don’t know behind the scenes what drove this. Was it Nico or his dad? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/44642537/sources-tennessee-moving-starting-qb-nico-iamaleava
  7. Nico is not a good name to have in sports right now
  8. Today
  9. Do Tennessee fans even realize Tee Martin was their starting QB on their last natty team?
  10. Who is hated more in Knoxville, Nico or Lane Kiffin?
  11. There were red flags with him the way he got to Tennessee in the first place. Plus he isn’t exactly a world beater so good for Tennessee to move on. Now they will be the tamperers.
  12. Nico to sand aggy? No clue. Sounds like something those mouth breathers would do.
  13. Guess we will play him Columbus. Good, I’m not impressed.
  14. Go pound sand sorry about the double posts… don’t text and drive.
  15. Sam Leavitt’s market value just went up…a lot.
  16. Here’s the interesting dynamic of the Nico situation for me. He’s being represented by his uncle (Cord Landers) and he tried the tactic of holding out of practice to force a better NIL deal. However, on the other side, Tennessee football has Jimmy Sexton (most powerful agent in college football) as both a huge program donor and a member of the Board of Trustees of the university. It’s like mortal combat of the agents here 😀. It is also telling that Nico / Uncle Cord are trying to pull this during the Spring portal when some of the deepest pockets programs in college football (SEC schools) can NOT even bid for Nico and have him eligible to play for them in the fall. That really trims down the list of programs that can pay big money for Nico. Memo to Cord Landers: learn the basics of supply and demand before advising your nephew / client to put himself on the market.
  17. This kid and his handlers overplayed their hand. Right move by Heupel.
