How is Vanderbilt better than Texas? Nebraska? I think Coach Miller probably gets thrown out of the Vanderbilt game. Probably because he doesn’t want to watch either. He sat Matas (his recruit), Pope and Swain for a while. Then he blasted their effort after the game. Only reason to tune in is to see if he has a stroke.

Winston going would disappoint me because he looked so natural in the limited action he did get. Simon going wouldn’t surprise me poor dude is going to be buried in the depth chart next year. I also think Justus and Michael Terry will both enter but that’s just a guess. Would also be shocked if Spencer Shannon sticks around

You’re mixing two different truths and treating them like they cancel each other out — they don’t. Yes, you have to pay HS “dead money.” That’s the ante to sit at the table. No argument there. You don’t get Colin Simmons or Arch without taking swings (and some misses) on high-end prep talent. Development still matters, and depth still matters. Where the conclusion goes sideways is assuming Texas abandoned that model wholesale or that losing a Barnes-type equals strategic failure. What Texas backed away from isn’t HS recruiting — it’s double-paying: overpaying unproven kids and then matching portal-level money to keep them when they aren’t cracking the rotation. That’s not development; that’s sunk-cost panic.

Jeff Banks is out on the trail tonight. Banks is out seeing Libertyville (Ill.) High TE Brock Williams. Williams visited Texas in November For the game against Arkansas. Texas has a tight end in the class with JT Geraci, but Williams has remained a priority.

Unfortunate, enjoyed having Simon's dad on Coffee & Football when y'all did. Seems like a good kid and good family that seemed to get "the process" and be patient. My how the times are changing fast.
