  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure if they will be able to afford to keep their existing roster in place but with their existing roster perhaps they don’t want to.
  3. The board is evaporating... unfortunate
  4. A good CFP would help develop a plan to help resolve those issues and have a long term investment plan.
  5. Spurning Texas for Texas Tech is literally spurning a HC with pro experience and connections for a HC who’s spent the majority of his career in HS. Short sighted is an extreme euphemism. But it’s honestly a great filter. Guys with a HS/Texas Tech mindset are probably not who we want in our locker room.
  6. This was what was meant by “fake money”. Most of these deals are contingency deals, I.e., if the settlement is struck down, here is your pay. These are risky deals because I guarantee you these schools are selling the fact that the settlement will get struck down.
  7. I NEVER SAID NFL! 🙂
  8. Love the word “potentially” in that reporting. I think offers like that are going to be common. We’ll see what recruits want to do with it. Frankly, Tech hasn’t done a whole hell of a lot with the players they have recruited from high school.
  9. Some think the way to make a name for yourself is to try to target the brand that matters most.
  10. Today
  11. So tech will have their transfer class, Ojo and Carlton and then who? lol they won’t have anymore rev share $ to give out at this pace
  12. At this point… nothing would surprise me.
  13. What a refreshing difference in an announcement from the clown show put on by Ojo. Thank God we got the right one!!! Welcome and Hook'em John Turntine!!!
  14. Sark and his team have a proven track record of success when it comes to player evaluations. Walgreens made a lot of money by placing stores wherever there is a McDonald's. Texas Tech will do well in the Big 12 by poaching players Texas thinks are going to be stars. Imitation is still the highest form of flattery.
  15. I think Ojo and Carlton are good prospects and all but they may be the two most over ranked players in Texas if not the country. Overpaying for them is something aggy would do… tech is making some interesting decisions after blowing a ton of money on their admittedly good portal haul.
  16. I trust Sark and this staff
  17. @Bobby Burton this seems a personal vendetta to stick it to Texas you can see with Lee Hunter, David Bailey, Felix Ojo, now Jamarion Carlton? It’s just not a coincidence.
  18. IT said that Carlton was giving a potentially ridiculous offer from Tech that other schools aren’t willing to match…fun
  19. I’m pumped about this commitment. A solid kid that has been on top of the boards for a long time. I wonder with Ojo to Tech if this helps us flip Lee later on. I don’t know if it came down to NIL for Lee or if he genuinely liked Michigan more then Texas.
  20. Who’s the other edge on our board? BPW, Carlton and Henderson are taken Kreul? Barnes?
  21. Based on some of the post here. It seems Sark is dumb, all the recruiting staff is dumb, our NIL staff is dumb Fire everyone I guess. Shutdown the program LMAO
  22. There are a lot of lazy comparisons out there, and the one I see the most is CC and Steph. She is no where near the player or type of style. If anything she's more Dame Lilliard. Steph is great without the ball and never stops moving. That's not a feature of Clark's game as of now. Dame's nickname is Logo Lilliard. I've watched the Fever these past games without Clark and they score more, give up less, turn the ball over less, and are having more fun. Clark's impact on the W is undeniable and she's fun to watch, but she has a long ways to go to be considered a great player. She's the most popular and polarizing player yes, but she's no Phee Phee, A'Ja, Stewie, or Sabrina. There are just for too many holes in her game. She doesn't deal with physicality well, she doesn’t shoot well going right, a liability on defense, a turnover machine... I'll stop there. If she made you watch the game then great, but there are far better players like JuJu, Paige, Cintron, and many more.
  23. $5 Million MINUS his agent's 10 to 20% = $4.-4.5 million. Less taxes for a single filer of 37% = $2.5 to $2.8 million. You really thnk he is going to be INVESTING all of that??? GMAB. Odds of his being a high draft pick out of TT vs UT is SIGNIFICANT (last first round pick out of Tech was Crabtree in 2009; last 2nd round pick was RB in 2020). Likely he could have gotten at least a $1.0 million per year from UT with much greater likelihood of being a Round 1 or 2 draft pick. He will regret this decision. Not betting on himself. Hope it work out well for them.
