I think all of the loud and unfiltered a$m interest being reported was Beard and his agents putting pressure on Ole Miss to raise their commitment to Beard and the program. a$m did as predicted and was supposedly going to offer another dumb big-$$$ contract. Ole Miss blinked. Beard stays in Oxford. That was always the script, imo.

Beard would do whatever it took to get to the next level in his career and win a title. He’s already burned the bridge at his alma mater, he has no loyalties other than his coaching mentors.
