  1. Past hour
  2. Can’t believe they didn’t make the playoffs.
  3. @Bobby Burton
  4. I read an article in the Daily Mail (USA version) yesterday and Finebaum was quoted as saying he hosted his radio show for four hours after the murder of Charlie Kirk and couldn't remember what he said because it seemed so unimportant to him. He said that he had never experienced that feeling before. My view is that he could have realized it's time to do something else in his remaining years. In the article he also said he considers himself a Republican and he voted for Trump. I would think that profile would make it difficult to enjoy working at ESPN Disney. Back in the 1980s I worked in Alabama and I learned that it's a state with a "strong Governor" structure (unlike Texas' "weak Governor") and being Governor of Alabama is highly coveted in that state. Name identification is the very first requirement to be a candidate for the job, and everyone in Alabama knows Paul. As surprised as I was about Finebaum, I was far more surprised to read that Stephen A Smith is considering running for the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2028. This post is in no way meant to inject political discussion and isn't partisan -- it's just noteworthy that two well-known sports personalities are considering running for high office.
  5. Today
  6. Agree! The only time I remember Zero U fielding a truly bad team was when John Blake was HC. I remember an old guy sitting behind me in the Cotton Bowl Stadium saying something like "who ARE those players wearing the OU uniforms?!" A runner - up season was when Howard Schnellenberger was HC. My buddy's wife used to call him "Grandpa Football," and I thought that was a pretty good one. But I must agree that for a stretch of a few seasons it didn't seem to matter who was playing or coaching for the Longhorns because Bob just had a spell over Texas and it just felt hopeless.
  7. Any word on Fri? Spurrier’s Bar (time?)
  8. The next time I hear a Fever fan blame Stephanie White for a loss, I hope a chihuahua gnaws your foot off at the ankle. That woman is putting on a clinic of adapting and overcoming.
  9. Unrivaled just added more teams, got 341 mil going into year 2, and the players get paid way more. The WNBA aint only game in town. The players have far more leverage than they've ever had. These players come in the league with a huge following and the league does nothing to maximize the new found popularity of Angel, Clark, Paige, and when JuJu get to the league, her star power on and off the court will be unmatched.
  10. I’m confident in it. Was just trying to stir up some drama. It would not surprise to see the best prepared UF offense this year.
  11. Well better pack it up, there's no easy games ahead.
  12. Well there it is. Mateer playing against Texas per Chipotle. More reliable source than the 7 eleven employee breaking Texas recruiting news a few years back.
  13. I was talking to my nephew and he said he was telling the players on UTEP about when he played against Bishop in Pop Warner. They were asking if he was really like that? He put me on speaker and let me explain, I told them on 1st down he played running back, on 2nd depending on distance he went back to running back or reciever, on 3rd down he played quarter back, and if they didnt go for it on 4th he punted. 🤣 that's a true story.
  14. I'm in the wait and see approach how Arch trots out there. Maybe the Sam Houston State was what he needed to get things going. Plus you'll have all your guys back on O to help carry the load. I'm optimistic about it.
  15. I don't know Ohio State seems like a half way decent team....We know what we have, it's a great defense.
  16. Kentucky and Arkie are the two easiest left. Everyone else can beat us on a bad day. And we can beat everyone else on a good day. This five week bonus mini camp should start paying dividends over the next two weekends.
  17. Let me rain on your parade. Per OFEI, UTEP is the worst offense in the country. Our overall opponents to date rank 122 out of 136. We don’t know what we have.
  18. Look at the price of the new franchises. Someone (Owners) are making a ton. The new TV contracts will bring in more money too. It's at an all time high in popularity. Cameron Brink, Lexi Hull, Aliyah Biston, Paige Beckers, Sonya Citroen are all very popular. Of course CC is too.
  19. Anything can happen, but I don’t think this game is going to be the struggle some assume. I don’t think Florida will do much of anything against our defense.
  20. At least we're not in the big 12, our monsters are real, and have to worry about other monsters too.
  21. Nah come on man, they stopped the mighty Long Island....er, I don't what they're called?
  22. Whoever said this was a safe space for people who just want to enjoy the journey, or trust the process, or go 1-0?! No, we must manifest every corner case disaster out into the open before it can turn into reality!
  23. The WNBA would fail without being bailed out each year by the NBA, which owns 42% of the league. All the growth is due to one lady and she gets crapped on by the rest of the league regularly.
  24. I saw who posted this thread and I’m like, “Yeah, I’m clicking on this.” You always make this place fun. I agree. Florida hasn’t stopped anybody. Texas should win going away.
  25. You just did exactly what he was talking about lol.
  26. North Texas is now a sleeping giant
  27. Cody Campbell is the big money guy behind Texas Tech or at least one of the two big ones. Pretty sure this is his son?
