Tailoring your defense to combat your opponents strengths each week (Matt Patricia, Belichek way) might be a little easier to teach to seasoned pros who’s livelihood depends on there time in film rooms and understanding of defensive and offensive schemes. College kids will have a harder time executing this week in and week out. If you’ve ever coached kids before, even young kids (especially young kids that is) you know what you want to do, and what you can do might be 2 different things.

I was thinking that these announcers have to say something constructive and positive. They can’t be like, “This is brutal.” I was thinking stuff like that when they said these teams play “a physical brand of football.”

Nah you might be predicting the future for Colin Simmons is how I took that.

You have to wonder if coaches should practice with sprinklers on every now and again to get teams used to the rain.

I know he’s a Sooner, but Dusty Dvoracek keeps getting better and better at his job. He’s excited without being obnoxious.

I noticed how he kept rotating his arm on the sidelines late in the 4th quarter.

I’d say “strip sack touchdown” but I think we’d all get a little twitchy-eyed.

Hearing them hype up these teams and how wide open the Big12 is I’m thinking….what if your version of “deep” is really just a lot of bad teams?

You mean “but college football is BACK” isn’t enough to watch both teams give the ball back to the other team? This is like football “hot potato.”

When they interviewed Matt Campbell after the lost fumble on the goal line toss I was shocked he said it was a great play call and they just have to take care of the ball. After the K State edge rusher had two sacks the opening drive, he blitzed from the left edge untouched on a blown line assignment as Becht got rid of it to avoid a third consecutive loss. Both coordinators are trying to do too much with no fundamentals. Add on top of it absolutely terrible discipline and execution by the players.
