Thoughts on the Texas offense tonight
Hank Kingsley replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I still love Arch and I'm rooting for him. But I feel like Sark and Co. have focused so much on protecting Arch from the outside noise/pressure, instead of urging him to become the leader of this offense. He's the starting QB at The University of Texas. We need him to start acting like it. -

Severe overreaction, But it’s typical of people on here. I do think some mass changes in philosophy need to be made on offense. For one STOP being complacent on not chasing portal offensive lineman IF they are good enough to start here. -

We are inconsistent and have no identity. We aspire to be a big-time home run hitting offense. But that doesn’t seem possible due to inexperience and an inability to have all the offensive players firing on all cylinders at the same time. -

Sark need to hire an offensive coordinator. His play calling is terrible. Sark needs to bench Arch but he is too scared he will transfer. The run game has the same problem it had in years 1, 2, 3 & 4 with Sark calling plays. Give Matt Caldwell a chance -
This might be the most disturbing thing he said: “But at the end of the day, it's like we can have high scoring games and I could air it out and lose.” Ah, yes. The brilliant strategy to not score points because we could lose if we scored points. This dude is in such deep denial about how badly he’s screwed up this season. An elite defense is the only thing separating this team from a losing record.

The beginning of the end of Sark

I agree, something’s not right. I want Sark to get it figured out, but the truth is, our defense has saved us for the last three years. Our offense has never been a strength. For someone’s that’s an offensive guru, we consistently have a mediocre to less than mediocre offense. -
GH I get why you take offense to that and you guys are the best that's why I'm here so that is BS but something isn't adding up that's for sure. we look like the opposite for everything that was said imaginable and Arch just plain sucks. Doesn't have any help but man he can miss wide open WRs like nothing I have seen before. Any idea WTF is going on ?

I truly apologize for sounding excessively harsh and I’ll stop doing so. Thanks for all yall do. I’m a reactionary Texas fan. Who knew? Gerry - I truly do love your work. No joke. Recruiting efforts and insights are better Than EVERYONE out there. And your work on the road is commendable and shows commitment to your craft. but even you will NOT be eating a mayo corn dog after this win….. right? ?? can we at least agree that this team looked worse today than the past 2 weeks? And perhaps even worse than they did in preseason practices? Based on the preseason reporting, I think we all expected more….. I don’t see much progress with this team as a whole. Again, thanks and I’ll stop being negative. hook em

If Arch completes the 1st pass and the last pass of the game, Texas wins. Manning still can't complete the crossing route as Wingo was wide open again and it wasn't close. Endries is wide open and Manning tries to drill a pass to him. If he puts any touch on it, Endries scores a TD. This is easy stuff and our QB is incapable of making the play. The big plays he made last week against OU were off schedule plays, he didn't make a throw from the pocket within the confines of the offense that turned into an explosive play. -

You are missing my point. Forcing a coach to make changes he doesn't think he needs to make never works out. If anyone really forced Sarkisian to hire someone he doesn't think is needed, you should just fire him and start over. -
