Relationship over transactions
NothinButDaHorns34 replied to Deep in the heart's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I broke it down like this to a buddy of mine who’s a fan of opposing team. Texas was a sleeping giant getting rocks thrown at them for close to 15 years, Now the giants awake, NIL is legal, Texas is a very profitable brand, So now the excuses and “he only went there because they paid him” has started. Don’t hate the player, Hate the game. -

Bobby still coming with fire this week… -
Don’t disagree but when politicians (whichever party) inject themselves into the middle of our sport it makes it more difficult.

NIL Executive Order Looms
Bobby Burton replied to OsasTheDestroyer's topic in On Texas Football Forum
The person I read the most on these topics is Ross Dellenger of Yahoo. He is absolutely dialed in. He seems to think that an EO will do nothing more than establish the CSC. After that, it’s not much meat. -

When Notre Dame and Oregon come into the state of Texas and take two legacies like Kaydon Finley and Jalen Lott with and because of larger NIL offers, excuse me if I tell Kirby Smart and Georgia welcome to recruiting in 2025. -

I agree 100%! Jeff’s soliloquy on this topic got my loins girded! Does anyone have a link to the Dawg Nation rant that started this discussion? -

EOs aren't "law" per se. Since SCOTUS has already broadly ruled on this issue, the EO is fighting upstream. I don't see this moving the needle much. I do see a lawsuit for a clearinghouse denial coming soon.

I hope he has success and by all accounts he is a nice kid, but something like this isn't that outrageous or super surprising if you followed him since HS. He wasn't exactly drama-free at Texas either. The guy no-showed the East-West Shrine Bowl earlier this year and didn't even provide a reason. That was not a good look. Hopefully he finds his footing in the NFL and can make an impact. Talented player when he can hold onto the ball.

That's the way I look at it as well.

@Jeff Howe Thank you for your passion on this topic. I would have a post full of asterisks if I said how I feel about these butt hurt fans and coaches. It's a new era of recruiting so EVERY school is doing this. Just because you got beat out for a recruit in your backyard doesn't mean he it's just because of money. He's been in Austin for a month training and had the opportunity to see the city. Athens and Austin are not on the same level when it comes to a kid with an entrepreneurial spirit. The crying is getting old and it's something I would expect from fans, not site moderators and coaches. Hell, we got beat out because of NIL but I don't see Sark making a spectacle about it. Sorry, rant over.

People still buying into the original fake post. 🤦🏻♂️

Hopefully it’s not true like he is saying. At some point he’s got to mature. The NFL isn’t gonna hold his hand through this process.

As if there weren’t enough moving parts with the house settlement, portal windows, NLI changes, realignment, and so on… Got to be challenging to navigate
