Kyle Flood has got to go
817 Boxing B replied to Burt Reynolds Jr's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I agree.. but I don't think Kyle Flood or anyone on that staff is above reproach. All of the individuals are accepting of criticism and that's evident by the results we've attained as a team, whether it be wins or drafted talent in the NFL. Even those that were picked up as free agents are a sign of the development process here at Texas. Again... it kinda reminds me of a high school team. We always had 1 big non district game that we looked at over the summer, and by the time district started, we had an idea of what we wanted to get done and who would do what. Sark's team is young and a lot of these guys are learning what it takes. We just have to be patient and enjoy this process. -
It is funny how many people I have to educate on some of the classics, Animal House, Blazing Saddles etc etc. The Napier was just a brain fart. Dude, I stalk you everywhere. F Friendswood

Always enjoy your "fan in the stands" posts, keep 'em coming. The more sites the better. And while I got the Bluto German bombers joke I think you need to be at least a certain age to remember the movie and Belushi. I didn't understand "Jimmy Napier" but figured maybe everyone else but me was in on the joke so I let it pass lol ... +1 for Sundancekid there. -

I dunno. Florida has shown very little to get too worried about this year. I’m guessing he’ll wait to open it up against OU if Florida continues to be inept.

Is he a Buck or another Jack? -
How many times has Lagway been sacked?
-
Good catch on Billy, I didn't think that sounded right. But the game may very well be for his job. And I left out, will Sam Pittman or Bobby "motorcycle mama" be the HC of the Pigs when we play them? But wow, did you not get the Animal House reference? BTW, I have flown over (at 500 feet) the Arizona memorial, several times actually, it is humbling. Actually I post this on 3 different sites. Thanks all.

Texas and Clemson 4-star commit Dre Quinn OnTexasFootball can report that the Texas staff definitely remains in contact with 4-star+ EDGE and Clemson verbal Dre Quinn (Buford, Ga./High). Quinn was recently on a visit to Tennessee for the Georgia game. The Vols are a serious player. Quinn picked Clemson over Texas June 19, due in part to Texas having a loaded EDGE depth chart. We shall see if that thought process changes, but OTF feels comfortable saying the Texas staff would certainly entertain a flip of the 6-4, 230-pounder wanted to play for the Longhorns.

I think we are going to see Simmons and Hill elevate their play and look more like they did last year. Gonna be a long day for Lagway. -

Defense should feast. Pass rushers should flush him out the pocket all night. Believe Baugh got hurt last night as well. -
None of the Texas running backs do anything when they reach the second level. Simon can make people miss in the hole, but he doesn't have the abililty to plant his foot and break arm tackles then take it to the house. Actually, none of the running backs do. Justice Haynes would of have been huge portal pickup during the off-season, as he would have given Texas the homerun hitter it desperately needs at running back.

I kept my eyes on the offensive line last night and something popped up in my mind. Some of the Olineman seemed a little short in the torso and long in the legs. Maybe I'm just seeing things but when Cambell was running down the sidelines on a run play I noticed that he doesn't have that typical low center of gravity that's considered ideal for interior guys. Then I started looking at the line in general ................ That's often called being "Hi Cut". I see this term in NFL combine analysis and it's often considered a negative in run blocking. Also, when the Coleman brothers and Daniel Cruz got involved they actually seemed more torso/leg proportional than the starters did. Maybe I'm just reaching in an attempt to understand the lack of run game push. I'm open to being completely wrong here. Has anybody noticed that our lineman seemed a little hi cut?

That was a hell of a catch too even though he was beat he hustled and more often than not that ball gets dropped

I like the night games way more than the 11:00 am ones.
