  1. Past hour
  2. It wasn’t good at all last year, not against good teams that you had to beat to win championships. Stupid us wanted a running QB, not a running back. Well. we got one, He isn’t slippery Mateer or Manizel type nor is he Josh Allen either. Since his confidence is shot to hell, the SEC will spy him and stop that. I wonder what all these insiders slipping info to the Mods of all these Texas boards really saw.
  3. The problem with this team is upfront. They make OU’s look all SEC, and we know they are not. What has Flood wrought? What happened to the weight room? The lack of real talent upfront is glaring or is it the lack of development? Is D.J. even a draft prospect? He looks no better than his freshman year. Sark and Flood missed it at Center. The wrong guy is there. Not sure who should be but not Hudson. They wasted a Spring and Fall practice and never figured that out. They can’t fix Arch because the parts around him are broken. Texas should have been able to run the ball against UTEP with running backs, not needing Arch to be the run game. Who in the hell did Choice turn down to get this running back room? I blame Sark for being enamored with Wingo. We needed another Mitchell, Bond or Golden type from the early portal period. No, he went through Spring and whatever they saw there made them go get Mosley. Looks like a little late. And he is no Singleton, Auburn, or Concepcion, Aggies, just to name a couple. It appears every SEC team except Kentucky on our schedule is ahead of us on the offensive side if the ball. Yes, we have a good defense with some depth, but we play some talented offenses, and they drive better with no brakes than we do.
  4. Our run game this time last years couldn’t have been any better
  5. Thanks for walking the board back off the ledge. I woke up this morning, the sun came up and realized we are 2-1 and have Sam Houston on the schedule. We now have a team that is no longer at risk of thinking they are "all that" and fully realize they need to get better.
  6. Rumors of hernia confirmed by OTF. Not the injury. Just the rumors. Got it
  7. Not arm or shoulder related. Not knee or last years injury related from what I was told. Some chatter about sports hernia ... but please don't go around saying OTF reported hernia.
  8. How does that even happen?
  9. It is the coach job to enforce his mechanics. As a Colt fan, Peyton would often confess in his early years that Frank Reich his qb coach (ex pro qb) drilled to fix his mechanics. The one guy that all the Mannings used was David Cutliffe. Peyton ran to him after his neck surgery.
  10. Cari is a very impressive young athlete.
  11. The OL's pass protection has been generally good. This was true last season, as well. I don't understand football well enough to understand how a decent pass blocking line is also a poor run blocking line. I have been led to believe [here] that Neto is a good run blocker but missed assignments as a pass blocker. Am I incorrect in having observed Stroh pass block well and run block poorly? That was what I saw on limited viewing. Is run blocking also a question of OL group assignment soundness, or is it a matter of pure strength and quickness? I hope someone here can explain.
  12. Today
  13. Explosive runs are a product of wide receiver / downfield blocking. OL can get you to and through the second level then it’s up to those guys. How many WR screens have been blown up this year, already? 🤘🏻🤘🏻
  14. CJ, this picture is our run game in a nutshell. Hell it’s our offense in a nutshell. It starts upfront. How does this happen vs a team like UTEP. I question the athletic ability of our OLine.
  15. He didn't look like he was running, as much as he was shuffling out there. Then Baker, well I don't know what he was doing.
  16. Can’t watch this and not get distracted by how slow Stroh is.
  17. If you think that is what this is, you're not paying attention. Calling people fairweather fans for being critical of something that has been a consistent problem, lol. Come on man.
  18. Searles did a pretty good job here I think. He inherited a horrible situation and actually made the OL the strength of the team in 2013 (albeit a bad team). It's actually insane that OP is 100% right, but nonetheless Flood is either the best or at worst second best (behind Searles) OL coach that we have had in the last 25 years. How Texas is so mediocre on the OL year after year is mind boggling.
  19. This argument made sense against Ohio State but does not explain this game against UTEP whatsoever
  20. Fair weathered “what have you done for me lately” types of fans on here
  21. I'm watching some of his throws against UTEP and comparing them to these in the video, that are the exact same. It's like night and day. Here makes the throws, against UTEP he misses them (and against OSU and SJSU). It truly is baffling.
  22. He could have this personnel and with the mistakes he's made this year, that would not make a difference.
  23. Arch's default skill as a passer appears to be vertical throws aiming to a target while his feet are firm in the pocket. Sark needs to be the catcher that tees up fastballs and change ups around the strike zone. The curveball isn't even making it to the plate. Vertical throws on the seam like go routes and curls, wheel routes, or straight horizontal throws like out routes to the sideline seem to be relatively successful. Arch struggles beyond one-dimensional throws...throwing crossing routes leading the WR, throwing on the run or, heaven forbid, crossing routes on the run. These are his kryptonite. He's a stinking bag of hot garbage on these throws. It's like asking Verlander to make a cross-body throw on the run a la prime Jeter...everyone looks dumb while the ball ends up in the dugout. These are throws that Ewers excelled at, he was the SS that could throw with touch and timing.
