This defense is FAR better prepared for dual threat QBs like Mateer than at any time in recent memory. Texas will be able to spy him and still maintain a pass rush and coverage discipline. The disparity in athleticism this year favors Texas in a big way (especially in the trenches). I actually think that OU is going to get a beat down this year from Texas. We shall see.

Klatt is a big fan of John Mateer as well. Watched him play up close and believes OU will be a completely different team as a result. Gittyup, our schedule appears to be quite a bit tougher this season if OSU, OU, Florida and Georgia all live up to pre-season hype. A&M is hard to read which way they’re moving. The good news is that Texas should be better this season as well overall…..deeper RB and WR rooms, more athletic (less experienced) OL and Heisman favorite Arch at QB.
