Personally I am not worried about recruitment rankings. NIL and the portal has been a massive game changer. Indiana won the Natty using more mature recruits taken from the portal with less NIL $$$.(but I think in future this will be harder for Cignetti to replicate every year) Sark and his team will recruit based on THEIR evaluations of high school recruits regardless of how they rank nationally. Any other needs for key positions will be filled through the portal. So team recruitment rankings aren’t really that important IMHO

As if LSU didn’t have enough clickbait material with Kiffin. However, Kiffin needed an answer to Sark’s hiring of Muschamp and recruiting. Ogeron seems to be his answer. (Wasn’t there a general consensus during Arch’s recruitment, that the Mannings didn’t like LSU largely because of Ogeron…?) Texas at LSU this CFB season just got more interesting.

By the way—one of your segments featured Gary Patterson and what he’s been up to. And one of the Mods suggested He would be great as DC in a place like USC…well I think USC listens to OTF—because I just saw a reference to GP’s name added as USC’s new DC on X.

I don’t know…maybe because of how the 2023 CFP ended with Michigan* perfect season as National Champion , Indiana’s 2025 season seems just too perfect also. I admit to a fair amount of skepticism, but if Indiana was able to cheat the system fairly, then good on them. Congratulations

On a day like today (Sunday January 11,2026) it’s worth mentioning: Alabama, smarting from their loss to Texas in men’s Basketball…today lost their high prospect in Cam Coleman to Texas…and 45 minutes later Alabama lost their high end RB Hollywood Smothers to Texas. (I know how they feel…like 2 yrs ago it seemed Oregon was taking all Texas high prospects/commits)

Regarding Indiana and their lack of 5 star athletes and the least amount of 4 stars in the playoffs: Gerry has said many times that stars vary across the board and shouldn’t mean as much as true evaluations . Unless I misquoted Gerry, I tend to believe Gerry’s statement. Give him a corn dog with mayo!
