2026 should be better. Far greater maturity, experience.- 1 reply

Would like to hear everyone’s opinion on this comparison between the potential OL in 2026 (Goosby-Coleman?-Robertson-Baker-Siani) and the unit in 2022 (Banks-Conner-Majors-Hutson-Jones)?

The Portal affect on Texas 2026 Schedule
Rocky P replied to Rocky P's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I think the thing that gets lost in all this huge roster turnover is continuity. Take LSU for example, they got a great haul of players but they literally changed the whole team. 39 new players in the portal, another 17 in recruiting. Thats over 50% roster flip and a lot of them sre going to be starters. Trying to develop culture and cohesiveness is going to be hard. When things go bad, what do they have to lean on? -
Farenheit, but it warmed up to 2° now.

We’ll get a guard, it’s okay… All kidding aside, my sister had a significant stroke on my wedding day ~5 years ago. She’s followed her rehab and dr’s advice. She’s not 100 but has a solid quality of life because she’s stayed vigilant. She’s had post tias but acted quickly. Mom died by stroke at 60 so it’s in our genes. Please take care of yourself and try your best to heed their advice. It makes a difference. 🙏🏽🤘🏽 - Today

The Portal affect on Texas 2026 Schedule

Thanks for the numbers! Do you think this kind of turnover makes it easier or harder (than pre-portal era) to predict how good teams will be? First instinct is it's harder, just with all the new faces. But on the other hand: in the old days, your unknowns were your own backups from the previous year(s), and you'd known their *names* and heard "we really like this guy", but didn't have any actual *college game experience or tape*. In this portal era, when we're talking about the top of the sport, teams' new faces likely already have real college experience and tape. So, perhaps there's more data now, to project how the top of the sport will perform, than in the pre-portal days. Thoughts?
