  1. Past hour
  2. This is the first time since 2004, and the fifth time ever, that Texas has had the men's and women's teams reach the Sweet 16 in the same season.
  3. I'm on a Zoom call with Sean Miller ahead of Texas taking on Purdue in the West Regional semifinal on Thursday (6:10 p.m., CBS). This will be the only time Miller or the Longhorns meet with the media before Tuesday's departure for San Jose.
  4. He's not shooting it as much as he did last year at Cincinnati or his sophomore season at Texas. Still, 3.0 assists per game are a career high and 2.1 stocks (steals plus blocks) per game is right where he's been in his career. The outside shot never came (he's 0-for-14 from three this season).
  5. @Gerry Hamilton odds u say Dailyn comes back? Also anyone else u know of that we are retaining?
  6. Today
  7. He looks like he can do bad things to defensive lineman...
  8. Right! Per the CBA, the NFL has to pay a certain percentage of its revenue to the players (and teams have a minimum salary cap that they can’t go below) so when the league’s revenue increases, so does the player’s salaries. I find it interesting how the football leagues make billions, but still a certain faction of fans would prefer to see the players get paid little to nothing in comparison to those billions. 🤔
  9. I'd just point out that salaries are going up because the NFL's revenues are going up quickly, so the salary cap keeps rising. I'm OK with sharing it with the multi-millionaire athletes instead of the billionaire owners keeping it, though it would be nice to see more of the revenue benefits trickle down to fans in the form of cheaper in-stadium food or cheaper parking or whatever to improve the fan experience. As for JSN, that guy deserves his contract. He was amazingly productive at his position and his team just won the Super Bowl. It's the guys who get paid big bucks and don't produce who bother me more (especially the whiners). Jets are paying $48 million this year to two QBs who are no longer on their roster lol. And then there are Kyler and Tua ... Cards and Dolphins are eating close to $150 million in dead cap space for those two. Situations like those bother me more than a younger player like JSN getting paid on a second contract.
  10. I gave up on professional sports a long time ago. College has their portal mess that needs to be cleaned up, but it still makes me feel something and brings me joy.
  11. If Texas wins the series against OU this weekend, they should be #1! Period
  12. That's why I don't pay attention to the polls in baseball, softball, or basketball. There will always be years that the top ranked teams don't really play much competition until the tournaments start. The only thing I care about is Texas making it out of the regionals and super regionals. From there you can't hide, you either fail or succeed and rankings won't matter.
  13. @Gerry HamiltonWho would you think departs after this season thats not a senior ?
  14. Awesome development!! I totally approve! Hook’em !!
  15. What would have to happen for Texas to jump UCLA? Since they don't play ANYONE in the Top25 except USC, they probably won't lose a series. The Longhorns otoh play 8 teams in the Top25 and have a much higher chance of dropping one or more series. Seems really unfair to not even be rewarded for navigating a much harder SOS.
  16. Great coverage Blake! I want to be #1 at the end of the season, I’m okay with 2 right now.
  17. Highest paid NFL WR is making Darius Garland money now!
  18. And the average woman makes even less.
  19. JSN just signed a 4 yr $168m contract. It wasn’t long ago that it was insane when a QB got to $20m/yr and now WRs are at $40m+/yr while the average man still make something like $60-80,000/yr. Just crazy where some of these sports are headed.
  20. From Top to Bottom and left to right they go: Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Arizona, Michigan St, Purdue, Iowa St, Houston, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, UConn, Duke, Arkansas, St. Johns, Ilinois
  21. While it's still a tad early to really put stock in RPI rankings, the Horns are now No. 1 in RPI. Here's the Top 10:
  22. Which team has a former Longhorn on it? I assume that team and the top left two teams are like Texas and have had recent coaching turnover?
  23. Bottom left corner and one spot to the right is Texas
