  1. Past hour
  2. I’m on my way to College Station. Looking forward to reporting on the scene from today’s game.
  3. Joint negotiation of media rights in and of itself isn’t a bad idea. It’s already happening inside the B10 and SEC obviously. However, schools like Texas, Ohio St, et al can only support so many poors and there’s already plenty inside both those conferences.
  4. Rocking the Texas Football T-shirt today in warmups
  5. OTF is out in Dallas this morning for the Jesse Owens Invitational track meet. Couple of quick updates on Jackson — we will have a longer more extensive interview coming this week. *** Jackson will be back on campus April 4th for an unofficial visit to Austin. The trip down will likely be a multi-day visit. Texas is expected to scrimmage on the 4th as well. Jackson dropped a top eight, though 4.5 schools are standing out currently — SMU, Texas Tech, Texas and Tennessee. Penn State is the half, but he’s yet to be out to Happy Valley. Muschamp was on the phone with Jackson minutes before speaking with me before his track events today. Muschamp and Orphey are in constant communication and Jackson says he feels like a high priority for Texas. Longhorns are in a very solid spot at the moment, with an early July decision date currently the plan. Official Visit Schedule • May 28: Texas Tech • June 5: SMU • June 12: Texas • June 19: Tennessee
  6. A huge SEC game with major NCAA Tournament implications as Texas travels to College Station to face Texas A&M today (3 p.m., ESPN2).
  7. I thought I couldn't dislike Texas Tech more. I was wrong.
  8. Today
  9. Love going to basketball games in the Greg. (70-75) Always sat in the front row of the student section.
  10. They said 466. I was surprised it wasnt more actually
  11. That was 460 something feet. Incredible. It almost made Carson Tinney’s shot over the green monster the other day seem like a mere pop fly.
  12. I hope they fix their broadcast problems. I had several issues during the UT game. Earlier I tested it during the first game of the tournament and could not get any sound. I tried it on my computer and my tv. Later it worked and a message had popped up on the screen saying that there had been no audio for the first four innings. Toward the end of our game I went to the UT website and clicked on the “listen” button for the game and got to hear Craig Way and Keith Moreland. They are so much better than most of the tv announcers. I wish I could sync the tv and radio broadcasts better so I could turn the sound down on the tv and listen to the radio broadcasts instead of the tv announcers all the time.
  13. He really looks the part. He is locating his pitches well and his ball has good closing movement, even his fastball.
  14. He’s added about 4-5mph of gas to his heater this week. Not sure how that happens, but glad it did. We made the #9 team look easy today.
  15. Unfortunately, you can't have a real discussion about this issue without discussing the forbidden politics. Big Cody has already headed the SEC and Big18 off at the pass, mid-terms might decide the rest.
  16. DOG!!! I agree with you... Dangerous indeed. I saw where President Trump has invited several CFB luminaries, led by Nick Saban, to the White House to discuss the future of College Sports and NIL. Unfortunately, neither Dog nor Bobby Burton were on the list of invitees. Hook 'Em! And take cover when the President and Congress get involved with college football.
  17. Ruger Riojas in three starts this year: 16 IP 30 K 3 BB 2 ER 1.13 ERA Has starts with 9 K, 11 K and 10 K.
  18. Completely agree. Max Weiner is fantastic in the developmental department.
  19. I was a UT Sophomore when Memphis State played the Longhorns at Gregory Gym in December, 1973. Texas played well, but Memphis was strong that '73-'74 season and won the game. I remember sitting in the front row under the basket in the Student Section... I always remembered that game and I think it was because I first realized how tall the college basketball players were when seen from floor level. If my memory is correct, the Erwin Center opened three years later in the '75-'76 season. There was an architectural model of "The Super Drum" in the entry lobby of Gregory Gym. Great memories of the Leon Black era of Texas Basketball and Memphis State was a powerhouse back in those days. Hook 'Em!
