Paulie, I think Cojoe was robbed of a year in which he would have shown that marked improvement. As Bobby has pointed out, he was ahead of Baker at RT when he was injured. Were he to have fully recovered, do you [or Jeff] think he has a shot at "marked improvement"? It certainly would be a boon to the OL were he to come back strong.

Imo the ideal path to a national championship for this team is winning the SEC tournament. If the projected bracket remains mostly intact, Texas could jump South Carolina for the 3 seed. Win R64 and R32 in the Moody. Go to Fort Worth for their regional S16 and E8 games. If they win those four, assuming no upsets, they would get UCLA in the F4 instead of UConn or South Carolina. Let UConn and South Carolina beat each other up in the F4. I think Texas is a bad matchup for UCLA and Texas could beat them in a rematch to play for a national title. Would be a 50-50 game between Texas and the UConn/South Carolina winner. - Today

CJ and Rod blind rank six of the best Texas QB seasons ever

Although Bradley was a terrific athlete, I remember reading that Royal said he was predetermining whether he would keep the ball or pitch it. Street was reading what the defense was giving him. It made the wishbone way more effective. I also think Street to Peschel was as iconic at Vince running it in on 4th and 5 in the Rose Bowl. -

Another loss

Bradley was an insanely good athlete. And I used to leave work to watch both Street and Hooton pitch. Hooton had an excellent Major League career. Street, who was the ace, who threw 2 no hitters including a perfect game, never pitched again after he was injured in the CWS. I think James Street was robbed of his career in baseball by that injury; perhaps his son's success was Karma.

I agree. Everyone thinks about the great running backs on the '68 & '69 teams. However, the wishbone wasn't performing Bill Bradley. Street comes in & the Horns don't lose again for any of his starts. He was also a starting pitcher on the baseball. Don't forget Bradley had a long NFL career as a safety. He was one of our last 2 way players.

All these guys have talent. It comes down to that inner drive. We have multiple examples of players "growing up". For example, look at the D line draftees the last few years... Or the TE room, especially Helm. For me, the one that exemplifies this best is Jahdae Baron. Talk about having a pair, going to Huff Daddy to request #7 & then winning the Thorpe. All these guys only knew a head down, a** up work ethic. Basically saying, "I'm not just going to be a UT letterman; I want to leave my mark." At the end of 2026, we'll know who those are.

Yea. I'm old. James Street - 1969. -
Funny man. Always had a great one-liner, right out of nowhere. When he took over at Notre Dame he mentioned that there were 13 quarterbacks on scholarship. A reporter asked him if any of them could play another position. "I think one or two of them could play shortstop."

I wonder if the top 4 draft producers have ever underperformed as much as this group.

Kudos to Bobby and the OTF staff

Thanks for the kind words! Think we're just getting started. 🤘 -
It was soooo poetic how they pounded their chest on how they were going to blow us out in Austin after the Florida loss just to come into Austin, with conference championship aspirations on the line, in typical aggie, They lay an egg.
