  1. Past hour
  2. I think had our punter not flipped the field the would have hade more offense. However they never generated a consistent running game against our d. Sayin was accurate but was never in any urgent state to make something happen. On the flip side smith dropped balls he will not the rest of the year. Had we punched the 4th in 1 in, the narrative on these 2 teams could be quite different.
  3. The question is if the players can adjust to a wide range of game plans week to week. Downs can, but maybe not everyone. Again, historically college players can't really do that. They need a consistent base defense. Maybe the inverted Tampa is the base defense, but offenses will know if that's the case. For most teams it won't matter because OSU is simply better.
  4. Both Penn State and Michigan will both be good tests for that OL. They got little push all game.
  5. Mr. Sioux Falls is not an SEC caliber HC.
  6. Man, I didn't expect the AP writers to do it, but I give them credit. They dropped Alabama completely out, which they should have. That defense just looked awful. Alabama might have hired another from the DuBose, Franchione, Shula tree as opposed to Bryant, Stallings, or Saban.
  7. Criminals better wake-up. Their o-line was horrible and ILL ST ran really well against them. If they play like that against Michigan, they'll get dog walked up and down the field.
  8. Glad to hear it, hope the fans were hospitable and not arseholes. Look forward to heading to Austin in a year.
  9. Patricia is an NFL guy, He will change the look week to week based on what type of offense he is facing. Plus I think he knows a thing or two about changing tendency so as to not be predictable.
  10. It will be interesting to see how Patricia handles the defense throughout the season. There was a lot of talk about "disguised coverages," but they only actually disguised coverage about 30% I think. They basically played single high inverted Tampa as their base defense. That's what Sark explained to Arch at half-time. Texas ran well in the third, and Arch was able to move it through the air in the fourth. In college, you generally can't tailor a defense weekly as you can in the NFL because the players aren't experienced enough. Patricia had all off season for this one game.
  11. Cheers and thanks for the point of view. Had a great time up there despite the result! Good luck this season!
  12. It is actually shocking. Alabama has arguably more (or at least as much) talent than any other team, and a coach that was considered to be the best young coach in the business.
  13. Plus they played a power level opponent on the road and won comfortably. Much more impressive.
  14. Auburn probably deserves to be ranked. Certainly looked a lot better than the criminal sooners.
  15. Not just that. Texas went into the game not knowing what they will face defensively. It's on tape now, Michigan and Penn State will have a very good idea what they'll see. OSU may have been "vanilla" on offense, but so was Texas. Penn State and Michigan will have plenty to throw at that five man front.
  16. Love it! The best breakdown of the game from an Arch perspective
  17. I mean, of course he will be fine. It was his first game as full time starter and it was against a top 5-10 defense most likely this year that has been a tough defensive team for years. People beating him up just don’t understand the game is about learning and improving. He isn’t a senior that’s been battle tested who happened to just fall off talent wise over the summer. it wasn’t the game we expected or wanted, sure but we should know it’s gonna be bumpy and he needs some time.
  18. Alabamas lowest ranking in 18 years. Wild.
  19. Texas is 6 in the Coaches Poll and 7 in the AP Poll. Coaches Poll: https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/ncaaf/coaches-poll AP Poll: https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll
  20. The Texas Longhorns fall to No. 7 in the latest AP Top 25. Meanwhile, it is Ohio State who moves up to the top spot in the country. Ohio State Penn State LSU Georgia Miami Oregon Texas Clemson Notre Dame South Carolina Illinois Arizona State Florida Florida State Michigan Iowa State SMU Oklahoma Texas A&M Ole Miss Alabama Tennessee Indiana Texas Tech Utah
  21. As a Buckeye I will give my 2 cents. No I did not feel great about our offense, I do understand we called a very vanilla game plan for a first time starter to minimize the chances to turn the ball over. 1. Running game was less then desirable. 2. Passing game was anemic. 3. Texas is most likely the best defense we see all season. With that said, defense is always ahead of the offense this time of year. OSU has a couple cupcakes the next two weeks before we travel to Washington so I expect us to open it up quite a bit and give the Freshman QB some confidence that will come in handy for the late season push vs Illinois, Penn State & Michigan. Good luck to the Long Horns, Arch will be fine poor kid was being way over hyped, I can not imagine a tougher scenario Opponent and venue wise for any QB's first start then what he had.. He will end up being a great player.
  22. The good news for OSU is that they really have only one big test left, and that's Penn State at home. They could of course lay another egg against Michigan. Their fanbase is gloating now, but those who look at the actual play rather than just the win are pointing to run defense and lack of run game on offense. They probably won't see a run defense as good as Texas until the playoffs.
  23. Do we really know what Florida is or isn't on the line of scrimmage? I love the sophomore running back he was a load last year. Dike one of the recievers from last year is on a NFL roster and has been solid in his reps. Where I disagree is that Lagway is a good qb, I haven't seen it is the reason. He may end up being really good, but I'm not going to credit that to him just yet. He throws the deep ball really well, but timing and touch isn't a strength foe him as of yet. So for me, I'm not looking at what he could or should be, bc he may never reach that. All I have is what he's shown.
  24. I came away thinking Sayin played well. The freedom they give him will only expand. But he was smart, he was on time and there was not a throw that I remember that was in harm's way. Again, they definitely had the trianing wheels on, but the throw to Inniss on the slot fade was spectacular and completed against just about any other team in the country. He had moments.
