Pulled up to Mansfield Lake Ridge. Weather permitting, I should be able to see a full padded practice from Felix Ojo this afternoon.

I would bet right now Ellis is the top 27 WR on the board in-state for Texas. Think Tre Moore is close to the top as well.

Ellis was dealing with a slight hamstring strain so no running or working out today. He moved from Arkansas to Texas when he was 11 and says he’d like to still visit that area again but doesn’t have any emotional ties to any specific area for the most part. Feels like a truly national recruitment will eventually emerge if it’s not already at that point.

Ellis holds 35 offers currently. He has plans to see Nebraska on June 4-5 and says Ohio State and Oregon have talked about getting him back up to campus for visits.

27 OL Alexander Herrera tells me he’s got a few visits lined for June: June 6 — Texas June 8 — Texas Tech June 10 — TCU Herrera will attend the camp in Austin, but won’t be able to participate in on-field drills after undergoing a small knee procedure this spring. Nothing torn fortunately.

Rumor has it that he is actually retiring to spend more quality time with the grandkids...

If I wasn’t just at the dentist this morning I absolutely would be hitting that spot. I love me some good onion rings, I hate that Jake’s in Allen went under. A big hot dog and onion rings was awesome back in the day.
