  1. Past hour
  2. Can’t watch this and not get distracted by how slow Stroh is.
  3. If you think that is what this is, you're not paying attention. Calling people fairweather fans for being critical of something that has been a consistent problem, lol. Come on man.
  4. Today
  5. Searles did a pretty good job here I think. He inherited a horrible situation and actually made the OL the strength of the team in 2013 (albeit a bad team). It's actually insane that OP is 100% right, but nonetheless Flood is either the best or at worst second best (behind Searles) OL coach that we have had in the last 25 years. How Texas is so mediocre on the OL year after year is mind boggling.
  6. This argument made sense against Ohio State but does not explain this game against UTEP whatsoever
  7. Fair weathered “what have you done for me lately” types of fans on here
  8. I'm watching some of his throws against UTEP and comparing them to these in the video, that are the exact same. It's like night and day. Here makes the throws, against UTEP he misses them (and against OSU and SJSU). It truly is baffling.
  9. He could have this personnel and with the mistakes he's made this year, that would not make a difference.
  10. Arch's default skill as a passer appears to be vertical throws aiming to a target while his feet are firm in the pocket. Sark needs to be the catcher that tees up fastballs and change ups around the strike zone. The curveball isn't even making it to the plate. Vertical throws on the seam like go routes and curls, wheel routes, or straight horizontal throws like out routes to the sideline seem to be relatively successful. Arch struggles beyond one-dimensional throws...throwing crossing routes leading the WR, throwing on the run or, heaven forbid, crossing routes on the run. These are his kryptonite. He's a stinking bag of hot garbage on these throws. It's like asking Verlander to make a cross-body throw on the run a la prime Jeter...everyone looks dumb while the ball ends up in the dugout. These are throws that Ewers excelled at, he was the SS that could throw with touch and timing.
  11. Totally agree. Like most people i think he lost his mental after osu. There are a couple sidearm throws against ulm on short throws, but they're still in the right spot
  12. Goosby is our best OL, but I just went back and looked at that play of his where he tried to chop block a guy one on one and Arch got blasted because of it. What in God's name was he even trying to do there? Get up on your man and do something, don't just try to chop block him...that had the to be the single dumbest thing I've seen an OL do and he's our best guy on the OL....
  13. I just made the video to compare his play vs utep. But youre saying you predicted arch would play this bad? Somehow i dont believe that
  14. Most of his mistakes have nothing to do with personnel. His mechanics look noticeably different and he’s completely missing wide open receivers vs G5 opponents. Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond aren’t catching a lot of the throws he’s attempted so far.
  15. An offensive idea is to have wishbone, pony, cowboy back (hybrid FB/TE, a la Townsend - OU tore us up for a few years with Nic Anderson in this hybrid role), packages that give Arch some triple option plays to use his legs and try and keep defenses honest. Throw in some short dump passes if the defense starts to cheat up. Scheme up some straight drop backs to hit the seams on curls or go routes that only require one or two reads before you try and dump it off in the flats or throw it away. Between Wisner, Baxter, Simon, and WR jet screens, Sark can cook up some motions and wrinkles to keep teams guessing week to week. Use Matty Caldwell in the red zone. He's expendable in the run game and can probably hit some short yardage timing routes on crosses or out routes. Arch's only job is between the 20's to get Matty in the red zone. This takes some pressure off Arch to be the do-it-all QB. Use the Sam Houston game and the bye-week to install. I recall the 18-Wheeler package with Swoopes and the Belldozer package with OU during the Trevor Knight era as examples of successful 2-QB strategy.
  16. 2022 OL class ended up underwhelming in a major way, and that's with a top 10 pick.
  17. Way different offensive personnel on the field with seniors and draft picks all over the field so trying to say “but last year” doesn’t make sense. Go back and show us him against Georgia after Quinn was pulled and tell me if you’re still surprised about how he’s playing this year.
  18. With UCLA and VT kicking off their coaching searches this early, I wonder if UF decides to pull the trigger on Billy Napier if he gets blown out by Miami? A close loss and obviously a win over Miami would get him to the Texas game and he would have a chance to get a big win and save his job for the rest of the regular season. But I bet he’s the next to go.
  19. Thanks for posting this and cutting it up (if that was you). I see some poor throws here, but overall if we had this guy throwing the ball this year, we beat Ohio State and we blow SJSU and UTEP out by 60 each. This year, he can't even make some of those simple throws he does easy here. Also, unless I'm blind I didn't see any side arm throws.
  20. Guys getting injured a lot in HS make me worry. Tends to lean towards a career littered with injuries. Ewers, Baxter, etc. Anyway, wish him all the best in his recovery.
  21. Is this not on Coach Choice and Coach Sark for lacking of elite recruiting at RB? Poor evaluations/development? I mean, don't get me wrong Wisner is good but he isn't elite. We have no speed at RB, no elite game changer there. That is a problem and it should not be. Plus the run blocking is okay but leaves a lot to be desired. For several years we've had a lack of push up front. Too much finesse/thinking and not enough beat your ass and get you to the dirt, so to speak. When was the last time we really saw an OL at Texas maul somebody up front? '23 Bama game, maybe?
  22. The comments in the thread of his 31-28 comeback victory were kinda prescient. “Kid’s gonna get demolished back there behind this offensive line.” Hope he can come in fully healed, tough outcome for Dia.
  23. Is CJ a closet criminal sooner? Guy doesn't know what to say when, but he's a twenty something telling us some weird stat. Great job goober. Remind me of Switzer.
  24. Bell's had a rough go in high school with back-to-back season ending injuries. Get well soon, young man.
