Bud McFadin (1948–1950, Offensive Guard): Collegiate Career: • Played a key role in Texas’ 7-3-1 season in 1948, including a 41-28 win over No. 8 Georgia in the Orange Bowl. • Anchored the offensive line as a guard, known for his toughness and versatility. • Competed in multiple sports, excelling as a boxing and wrestling champion at Texas. Accolades: • Consensus All-American (1950). • All-Southwest Conference selection (1950). • Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame (1983). Paul Jetton (1984–1987, Offensive Guard): Collegiate Career: • Started as an offensive guard, contributing to Texas’ offensive line during the mid-1980s. • Served as a team captain, demonstrating leadership on and off the field. • Also competed in shot put for the Texas track and field team, placing third in the 1987 Southwest Conference Championships. Accolades: • Two-time All-Southwest Conference selection (1986, 1987). • Drafted in the sixth round of the 1988 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
