  1. Past hour
  2. I was listening to Rod B’s podcast this morning and came away optimistic that our redzone problems are fixed for 2025. Each of the problems Rod identified from the last couple of years have been corrected. 1. OL not “bullies” - Majors and Connor replaced with better run blockers in Umeozulu and Hutson. 2. RBs not inside runners - Instead of Wisner and Blue in the redzone, we have Baxter, Gibson, Clark and Simon. We will be running more gap scheme and inside zone as opposed to outside zone which Wisner and Blue were better at. While we had Gibson last year (and he was our best redzone runner), he was a true freshman who hadn’t figured out ball security. Hopefully, that has changed with a year of seasoning. Sark has been great in the redzone with the proper RB. 3. QB undersized and not mobile - Arch definitely cures that. Arch had an 80% redzone TD rate in 2024. He is big enough to sneak the ball and mobile enough where the defense must account for him in the run/scramble game. 4. Sideshow Burt - while we want TDs, our kicker won’t miss chip shots. 5. Turnovers - remember the aTm game where two TOs in the redzone changed the complexion of the game? This one is to be determined, but I don’t see Arch fumbling on slides or making lazy throws to the perimeter.
  3. To be fair (I know), the cheating from Bud and Switzwer preceeded Castiglione. I thought he was very good for them, and consequently I'm really glad he is out of the picture now. They look like a total cluster now.
  4. I think Eric Winston played at Miami. He wanted to but his aggy parents wouldn't let him, so the compromise school was Miami.
  5. In 1970, the last year of the most glorious three year run in UT football history, in which they won 30 games in a row and a national championship (1969), there were three UT All-Americans - Steve Worster, Bobby Wuensch, and Bill Atessis - all of which were starters over that three year run. Wuensch and Atessis were both from Houston Jones, which doesn't exist in name anymore. It's now named Jones Futures Academy, which doesn't have a football team.
  6. Today
  7. Jim Bertelsen 35. RIP Blocked like a pulling guard.
  8. My bad. He wore #11 until his senior season and #37 in hiS final game.
  9. Texas only has Bobino from LaMarque. Ball High - Casey Hampton and now Jonah Williams ... but nobody in between Texas City - Ervis Hill, Tyrone Jones, Everick Rawls, Jermaine Anderson, Armanti Foreman and D'Onta Foreman
  10. Haha. And they are LOADED with young talent
  11. Didn’t Ricky wear 20 the day he broke the record against A&M? I was at that game but my memory is a tad blurry.
  12. That record breaking run against aggy is one of the greatest moments in sports history.
  13. Can we go ahead and add Ismael Camara (probably didn’t spell that right) or is it too soon??
  14. I’ve got to put my Longview Lobos on here. James Street, Vondrell McGee and probably a couple others I forgot about.
  15. Who is this Ricky Williams you speak of mute munroe I’ve never heard of him 👀
  16. We’ll continue to track it over the next 34 days.
  17. I’m with you on this one, but you never know!
  18. You’re sharing with the class when you win, right?
  19. We’re down to just 34 days before the Horns take on the Buckeyes…. Not even asking the question today, despite the title. Ricky. It’s Ricky Williams.
