  1. Past hour
  2. Yep Sark needs to take the bounce the ball 10 feet in front of the Receiver play out. Sark should have known that Manning wasn’t going to be able to make any easy throws or check downs. Lots of motion and handoffs I guess. It doesn’t matter about vanilla. That’s the dumbest thing I heard all day. Wingo’s penalty was not called by Sark. Killed the drive. The WR’s and especially Endries was open a lot.
  3. I’m wondering if the lack of pre-snap motion is due to offensive line being new and Sark & co didn’t want to have potentially more pre-snap penalties than we already had. Otherwise, doesn’t make sense, this is Arch’s third year in this playbook, he should know it. Only other thing I can think of is Sark is thinking long term and didn’t want to reveal anything game 1 since it doesn’t really impact Texas’ playoff chances win or lose. Obviously would rather win, but peaking at the end of the year is preferred over shooting your shot early.
  4. I didn’t like the game plan but to your own point, guys were open and arch stunk it up. Sark takes too long to abandon the theory of what works when execution charity isn’t it allowing to. He gets the qb will rebound until it’s too late.
  5. This is so true. We didn’t need Arch to win the game for us. Our run game was good. We just needed him to not lose the game for us which he did.
  6. That’s fair, but I definitely categorize shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties and wild throws as a face plant in any event it’s week 1… adjust and gear up for the swamp 🤘
  7. As underwhelming as this performance was, its start 1 of game 1.
  8. It’s been a problem the previous two seasons and appears to be a problem again this season. It can’t be the QB only.
  9. Would a toss play on the goal line be less “vanilla”? At some point it becomes a physical fight and our guys still aren’t up to the challenge.
  10. If Arch threw the bubble screen OSU would have taken it 98 yards. But, I do believe that if you are going to run Arch it has to be to the outside. On another note, Sark knows his OL can get the push.
  11. It’s almost like Sark has a really young team and a QB that hasn’t been able to master the playbook. The cognitive gymnastics going on to get past the glaring truth of this game- Arch sucked.
  12. I hear ya but he had tomato can defenses last year … trying to give the benefit of the doubt 😂
  13. I watched a six man football game on Friday and that kid had perfect deep throws that were dropped. I never bought into the Heisman, first pick in the draft BS. Arch has too much talent to not succeed. I never expected him to miss such easy passes all game. I thought in the second half it would get better and it didn’t. Sark has got to use this kids legs. I am not so confident in the run game. It didn’t work on fourth and one. Confidence in the run game would have been a handoff like Ohio State did. Instead it looked like a tush push. I am more concerned about Sark than Arch. His running up the middle on second and long makes no sense. Despite an entire off season Texas still turns the ball over, has penalties at the worst times and still can’t score in close against elite teams. You have to beat elite teams to win a national championship and Texas seems to struggle once it gets to the best of the best. Sark seems determined to do it his way. It seems like he refuses to believe another team may have a better line than his. Ohio State scored on a three yard running play. A really good defense couldn’t stop them. It’s not like Ohio State did anything special on that play. And Texas can’t score on the one yard line. This stings more because they could have won this game. It would have given them a little more wiggle room against a brutal SEC schedule. It’s going to be a while before Texas faces another team where they are matched against elite talent on both sides of the ball. So it’s back to wait and see mode. It’s only the first game but I was not expecting to see more of the same issues as last year. Texas does have an awesome punter though. That’s not a sarcastic comment. I think he’s really good.
  14. Arch was definitely underwhelming, but play calling, especially in the red zone, was predictable and vanilla. I found myself missing Greg Davis. At least the bubble screen would have been a change.
  15. Nah. Disappointed, yes, but out-gaining the other team by over 100 yards eliminates face-planting in my book. Shot our ourselves in the foot, to be sure.
  16. It’s not sarks jam but a guy like castellanos is what you need in college especially with pedestrian receivers…
  17. The environment was great for Arch to thrive, he just couldn't make the routine plays that would lead to the complementary plays off them.
  18. The actually went empty multiple times. I think the interception was out of empty.
  19. How did Sark plan to limit Arch? Arch forced Sark to limit him. The first throw was a perfect call and Arch skipped the ball. Arch couldn’t even throw the screen. Can’t wait for the Film Guy to break this down. Arch couldn’t make the 2nd or 3rd read.
  20. What was Sark supposed to do short of going out and making throws for Arch? Arch was just terrible for 3 quarters. 26 yds passing in first half? Who would have predicted that?
