Comparing this to previous years, this is further proof the talent gap between Texas and the top programs in college football is closing. If you sort by player average, Texas is #2 on this list. These rankings don't tell the entire story, but it is a testament to the job Sark and his staff have done turning this roster around since they arrived. Yeah for sure. I wouldn’t expect you to choose Ohio State’s running backs. I trust the Ohio State development and S&C programs. Both of them will be good this year. As will Texas’ backs, this isn’t only one of them can be good.

That is based entirely on speculation. Donaldson is solid, but he hasn’t gone over 4.7 YPC since 2022. Texas faced him that year and he did absolutely nothing. Peoples averaged 4.0 YPC last year. They might both be great this year, but there is absolutely no evidence to give me any confidence. Meanwhile, Wisner rushed for 1000+ last year and Saban called Baxter the best back he faced in 2023. You can have yours—I’ll take ours.
