We have new folks running the show. This is not your old Admin. These folks knew exactly what they were in for when they went all in to join the SEC. They are all in on winning as well. Read into that what you will. Eltife me.

Texas has 3 DL and an edge already committed, not super concerned RB and LB ones to keep an eye on

How many “Hi”s are still out there?
Jeff Howe replied to Migas & Fajitas's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Like Ric Flair has been doing at Tampa area restaurants (allegedly)? -
Yes, compliance department?? Heard of it ?
-
You’re right, but it seems that we are leading for some recruits and at the last minute another school swoops in and takes them. I am assuming it’s NIL, or a bag. And the SEC has always been good at that. It’s because I trust our recruiters that I think this is true. The rules are the only thing that has charged since last couple of stellar years (we are still doing pretty good). Just think we might need to adjust, other schools are. As pointed out in the Sunday conversation.

Compliance? Lol. OK.

Again, I agree. I’m not saying they are idiots. They are the same recruiters that are winning battles still. They just seem to be losing these battles at the last minute to cheaters. SEC has been cheating a LONG time. This is how they like it. UTs compliance doesn’t care about football, they care about law suits. So we need to find a work around that is legal. Hope they do, and I’m sure someone is on it.

How do you know Texas isn't doing that? You're making alot of assumptions and don't know what is truly being offered by Texas to these recruits.
-
That's what I'm saying. Fong is so good at his job he's got 'em leaning in here lol dudes having a good chuckle somewhere knowing these predictions will have some feeling some type of way

okay, everyone's going to say 'go get him sark' but let's try to look at this with the most realistic lens. we know the high end recruits' main criteria these days are 1) how can i get the most nil $, in 2) a system that will highlight my talents, and 3) not be in an over-crowded room because I want to play early (particularly true for skill position players). relationships matter, but only to an extent. same with location. with that said, taking out pure NIL: 1) Texas - great system with proven RB production with recent draft picks, room will have some talent, but no big dawg 5 star underclassmen left over. If wisner or baxter come back, may only be for a year. 2) tOSU - great system with proven RB production and recent draft pick, 4 star RB Akih committed for 2026. in 2025 4 starts Bo Jackson and Anthony Rogers, 3 start Isaiah West still in on stud RB Hiter who is likely leaning Tennesee or Michigan. overall, a very similar situation to Texas 3) Georgia - great system with proven RB production and recent draft pick, 4 start Lamar commited for 2026. in 2025 4 star Bo Walker. again, overall a very similar situation to Texas 4) Miami - by far the weakest system and shakiest coaching situation. 4 start Mallory committed for 2026. in 2025 4 star Girard Pringle and 3 star Charmar Brown. So in summary, 3 great options with similar situations, 1 closer to home. The other 3 have RBs committed, but that shouldn't matter to an elite talent. All 4 could potentially decide to "go big" and shut down the recruitment. Texas is playing from behind with given the lack of an official visit, but a visit could provide a wow factor. Another gird up your loins recruitment, but let's get him on freakin campus. -
Maybe. But is there really any rules on this? I doubt it. And if their are. They are minimal. Either way I'm amazed that the staff who got us the #1 class and top 3 classes are all idiots now according to fans.

I called FONG to confirm rumors. His secretary said he was in a meeting in Collie Station this afternoon and asked not to be bothered. Hook 'Em!

Explain to me how it's clickbait when everyone who clicks on the thread is already a paying customer? Weird take. But with that said the Hi thing is not my thing. And its pretty much useless in this NIL era of CFB. -
I’m sure the compliance department has the final say.

Sark has the ultimate say. He is not gonna allow NIL to get out of line and impede the culture he built.

Gentleman, remember this years team is the best depth we’ve had in many years on both sides of the ball. When you go after big names you win some and lose some. If these Kids don’t want to be here because of money that’s okay. They’re still kids. We’ve reached the point that we can’t promise early playing time like these other schools can. We can promise development and becoming a student of the game with the opportunity to show out. We gonna be Alright Alright Alright.
-
I doubt it. He has a say. He doesn’t solely deal with the business of work arounds. I’m sure they have someone on it. Lawyers, CDC, etc.
-
Again. You either trust Sark or you don't. He controls the NIL offers.
-
I agree, but I didn’t complain in previous years. Well, maybe in the late Mack Brown years. I trust the staff, but they don’t control the money always. Everyone here is right, this is big boy recruiting, and we are going to follow the rules now and do little boy recruiting, this is concerning. We won these recruitments with the narrative and the kids wanting to come here with solid recruiters (I trust that), then it seems like we can’t close due to money. That doesn’t have much to do with recruiting chops. Has to do with the system. We need to funnel the money we were winning with the last few years into legitimate channels to make more competitive offers. We are Texas
