January is perfect because the coaches know who will on the team for the next season. Also lines up with academic spring semester.

This week’s random CFB facts (August 4th)

- Penn State beat Nevada 46-11 last Saturday. That score has never happened before at the FBS level. Is this what you’re researching when you’re on mute? 😂 This is a baseball-like stat. -
“Domination” is being used way too loosely

If the only chance your opponent has is to get a quick score and onside kick, then you put the game away and you can talk about dominating -

Down 7 points with the ball in your hands on the 50 yard line (or 15 for Clemson) with 1- 2 minutes. That is a chance. That is the other team not putting the game away and not dominating -
You think a scholarship used on a walk on is worth the same ($$$) as a scholarship used on Zion Branch? Who did they even play?

Dak actually plays pretty good against the Eagles. -

Dak gets sacked 4 times. Hopefully he doesn't have his usually season ending injury. -
The ridiculous thing is that we didn’t want to “throw away” a scholarship at Zion Branch, but we ended up with a free scholarship over the summer that we gave to a non-contributing walk-on LB (no offense to him). Maybe Sark didn’t buy into Branch or didn’t think he fit his system, but that feels like a huge missed opportunity given the lack of explosiveness in our offensive skill talent.

This week’s random CFB facts (August 4th)

fun fact: we almost didn’t score a touchdown, almost tying with VT and northwestern -
I started doing this last season and people enjoyed it, so I’m bringing it back. Each week I post a list of random college football facts that pertain to the current state of events in CFB. Here is this week’s: - Alabama is 4-5 against their last nine FBS opponents. - Kalen DeBoer has four losses at Alabama as a 14+ point favorite, in 14 games as the coach. Nick Saban lost three of those in 139 games. - 2024 Florida State’s 2-10 season is the second-worst record an FBS team has experienced before beating a Top 10 opponent in their season opener. - TCU scoring 48 points is the most Bill Belichick has ever allowed in a football game as a head coach. - Two P4 programs have yet to score a touchdown this season: Virginia Tech and Northwestern. - Penn State beat Nevada 46-11 last Saturday. That score has never happened before at the FBS level. - Georgia Tech’s win last Saturday marks their first non-conference road win in a decade. - This is the first time since the 2006 Preseason AP Poll that Florida, Florida State and Miami are all ranked in the Top 15. Bonus: - UNC’s backup QB is the same age as Bill Belichick’s girlfriend. - Lee Corso’s farewell episode was the most watched College Gameday ever.

I’m sure a lot of keyboard warriors will be pissy for this thread. but out of curiosity i looked up Zachariah Branch stats with his UGA debut & couldn’t help to see Zion Branch lead the team in Tackles…. i was prettty stunned. i didn’t think he could play at the level of a someone i thought to be getting real minutes on a UGA defense… anyone else notice that? or watch the game?

We had no real chance, we were scoreless through 3 quarters. -

Unlike A&M, we did not get beat by two scores and had the ability to tie the game on the last drive. Ohio State and LSU did not put the game away- they gave their opponents a chance on their last drive. TAMU had no real chance -

We are the A&M in this comparison while Ohio state was Texas. -

This sounds like a paid for publicity article to make the process look great or better than they really are.
