Texas vs ou sucks food court meet up
ArizonaLonghorn replied to MBHORNSFAN's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Just wondering if anyone else got invited to the slightly more sophisticated "Tailgate" held at the Discovery Gardens at Fair Park, or if closetojumping and myself were the only ones? Hosted by the Chair of the BOR, the system Chancellor and the UT President - I'd expect blinis with caviar, tiny shrimp on plastic skewers and properly chilled Sancerre instead of corn dogs and beer (except I can't go). Here's my invite (seriously, I got this in the mail). And if this don't impress you much wait until you see what they have planned for the Halloween soiree the night before the Vandy game 😎 -
If the quote was “we stepped up hitting” the OP would be, “Sark has lost it, even Saban cut back on hitting!”

Gonna be a hot one. Wax cup me -
Highlight of yesterday, as we were walking out, someone stated directly to Coach Miller, "Refreshing to see an actual offense on the court".....message was applauded by many
-
No, they did not pass the eye test as early as last year

For me, the eye test is coaching and players/talent Texas passed they coaching eye test for me with Miller. Talent ... he has enough to begin to show some of what we will see in the future as he builds his roster. I do believe Miller will have more complete/pro skilled talent in the future. -
A his team has great talented depth too, like what are you talking about? This philosophical change is similar to Mack deciding to completely change the offense after the 09 season. Literally broke what didn’t need fixing.
-
It’s not only that, the IOL literally don’t know who to block. They’re the worst combination: soft and clueless.
-
Keep us posted
-
Coaches at every level deal with the tension of developing toughness and physcality while trying to keep players fresh and healthy. I don't know the answer, but I can see with my eyes that the Texas OL is not physical or playing with toughness right now.

I wasn't a fan of Galindo, but some of these SECN announcers make him look like an all-star. What I meant in my comment was the quality of content, announcers were secondary to me, but they weren't too bad. Seems to me like many of the LHN announcers went out of their way to not be Texas biased (including former Longhorns) where as some of the SECN announcers do not hide that they are biased to their home team. -

Saban could afford to do that, he had depth like no team has today.

He’s wrong in saying OTF said the offense was great in the offseason. And that’s part of his schtick.
-
Dude is a realist what can you say….We saw a lack of toughness on Saturday, Why was that? Do you have a good explanation? Why did we get whipped for four quarters?
-
This. OP’s schtick is about as painful as last Saturday.

Let's tap the brakes. I don't find the SECN quite as a cringe-worthy. Nothing personal against any Lowell Galindo fan club members. -
Don't they always pass the eye test? Has there been years where you've seen them in a similar setting and said "this is going to be a long year"??

No, they didn’t. -
This site also said the offense looked great. I’d trust a guy that sees everything than just a 20 min view window. No disrespect to Bobby or OTF.

This very site said it was the most physical fall camp they heard about in his 5 years here. -

I’m more concerned about his excuse for losing both his games against real competition. Asking how many teams would go to the swamp and win knowing usf done it a few weeks ago was such a stupid thing to say. Michigan has beaten Ohio st 4 years in a row. -
Fall practice was the same as spring in this relation. This is from someone who is inside the facility that sees more than just a media window:
