  1. Past hour
  2. I disagree, if you hand it off to Baxter on the goal line, instead of having Arch run it, those are TD's. There was push there. Because they converted several 3rd downs via running the ball, which were 3&2, etc.
  3. The partial game stats just need to stop. I can see discounting 4th quarter stats if the 4th quarter wasn’t garbage time. It wasn’t. Ask Ohio State fans if they felt comfortable with Texas on the 50 with 2 minutes left. I wouldn’t have been. Honestly, I think I would rather have a guy in Arch’s position start slow and get stronger as the game went on, which is what happened. That tells me it was nerves and the guy is a gamer at heart. Starting fast and then fading is more alarming.
  4. Ohio State Miami LSU Texas Notre Dame Clemson Arch Manning will correct the issues he was having with easy completions. He is a better QB than the Carr guy. Texas also probably has the best defense in the country. Wisner looks like he will run for 1000 yds again this season and looks like we can get 500+ at least from Baxter. I could see both of them going for 1000+, honestly
  5. I believe the rankings should not come out until the middle of the season. The rankings as of now are meaningless.
  6. Actually looking at it closer, that looks like Spencer Shannon, #83. I think Endries is #88. But still, he was wide open on that drag route, the S or CB was being blocked in the end zone. All he had do was turn and plow into the end zone. That felt like an all game thing for him. He was barely under any pressure, even in this one, perfect OL block, has plenty of time, still makes the wrong read.
  7. The partial game stats comparison needs context. As Gerry himself pointed out, Patricia didn't "decide" to let Texas run all over them in the third quarter. Day didn't want to let Texas have a chance to tie the game late.
  8. Neto didn’t play that much. Stroh was better. I agree with you on trying the play call. My point is everything has to be executed. Any play can fail due to poor execution. I encourage everyone to go volunteer coach any sport, if you haven’t.
  9. He’s had a total of 3 opportunities in scoring range so far this season, 1 of 3 conversions for points, two 4th down stops. Against a playoff team on the road. Almost assuredly a top 5 team in the country at the end of the year Let’s give him a few more opportunities to see if we are actually improved this season. Sample size is a little small so far
  10. Yea Ohio State stuffed that play on a 4th down last year too
  11. If he looks to his left, he had Endries wide open, I believe.
  12. They actually aren’t. They’re based on the opinions of members of the associated press or coaches.
  13. Guess you’re just going to gloss over 4 years of poor 3rd quarters?
  14. 7-0 vs Ohio State in Columbus through 3 quarters isn’t the same thing that happened in Ames in 2015. Also, football is a 4 quarter game, so the “through 3 quarters” stuff is bs. Arch had 170 through 4 quarters. That 4th quarter wasn’t garbage time. A key mantra in football is the 4th quarter is the most important quarter. Let’s not forget that when trying to make a guy’s stats look worse than they wound up being at the final. You’re being overly doom and gloom about losing a one possession game on the road while outgaining your proposed #1 team in the country by over 100 yds.
  15. We had two possessions in the 3rd Q. The first, we had a 70 yd drive that stalled at the 1 yard line. The second, Arch pretty immediately threw an INT. The 3rd and 4th quarters were our best quarters on Saturday. Bad 3rd or 4th quarter playcalling hasn’t been an issue so far this year. The first half was for sure not great, but we were going against a defense literally no one had seen before, so there’s a caveat there. Then again, hard to say the play calling wasn’t great in the first half when Arch was badly missing open guys. Goal line and short yardage are basically the same issue, and yes, clearly it’s an issue.
  16. OL was definitely a plus. They had some bad moments but overall for a brand new OL on the road against Ohio State, they did a great job. In both run blocking and pass pro. There was many times that Arch had loads of time in the pocket, even when they brought pressure.
  17. We have actually statistically regressed in red zone offense and our overall offense has pretty much been stagnant around the 15-20 range outside of the 1st year he was here. Conversely our defense has improved every year.
  18. Who cares run dive & run right behind Neto.. Gotta try something other than what Sark is doing
  19. Ok Hudson Card vs Arkansas lol
  20. No, they aren't. Every 1-0 team in CFB won't be ranked higher than every 0-1 team. We can put a few bucks on that if you really believe what you're saying.
  21. He has had 4+ years. You’re right he needs more creativity in the red zone/short yardage situations. But like you said players change but issues remain. Maybe his next special assistant hire should be to help with this issue.
  22. The Clemson loss to me is worse than ours bc at home.
  23. I didn’t like the 1st half gameplan as much as the 2nd half. With that said, the opening play should have been a 20 plus yard play and Arch grounded it. There were throws that were there and Manning simply didn’t make the correct read or couldn’t complete the throw. Sark has to bear some of the responsibility but players have to make plays. I think everyone thought Manning had a higher floor than that. Apparently he doesn’t and the climb will be steeper than anticipated.
  24. At least he didn’t turn the ball over!
