  1. Past hour
  2. Folks look at Texas and say they've only beaten OU (whose only beaten Tennessee whose beaten nobody) and Vandy whose only ranked as highly as they are because they beat overrated teams like a top 15 ranked South Carolina, top 20 Mizzou and a top 10/15 LSU. The argument is SEC teams get ranked highly just because they're SEC and then when they lose the team that beats them gets the huge bump without considering the original ranked team might be highly overrated as South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and frankly we were as well.
  3. 1. Don’t need to? Our OL is awful. It’s not getting better next year when Campbell and Hutson are gone with what is on campus. 2. No one is asking that Texas build an OL long term via the portal every year. We are in a championship window and to treat every other position on the team as such outside of OL is mis-management of the roster. QB, OL, and DL are the three most important positions on the field. 3. If underclassmen who aren’t good enough to beat out guys like Hutson, Robertson, Stroh, Neto, or a true freshman in Brooks get mad cause we want to bring in someone to win a championship for a year while they get to develop another year…..well bye then. They won’t let a guy like Brooks leave but he can’t be handed a job next year he hasn’t earned either.
  4. ACC keeps waltzing itself right into a one team invitation at this point, though.
  5. While the o line has struggled, their previous investments/assessments, player development and player retention will probably be a factor in portal shopping. Is there a guaranteed player that steps in and starts right away? If so I think we could see some movement. Internally I think they have high hopes for Cruz, Baker, and Brooks among others. We saw Oregon bring in RB Makhi Hughes for a pretty penny who has opted to red shirt due to lack of playing time. Sometimes the guys in the room just need a little time and experience to develop. Hopefully that's the case with this Texas OL. I'm not as low on Flood as most people I guess.
  6. Exactly. Don’t leave it in the committee’s hands. You won your way into controlling your destiny. Winning is the only thing that ensures that remains the case.
  7. Absolutely, there’s not a snowflake’s chance in hell 2 loss Texas or ND would be left out over a one loss Big12 or ACC non-champion
  8. I know it’s possible, but I don’t think Texas can afford a loss. They just can’t.
  9. I’ve seen him a few times and I don’t know that that’s for sure where he’ll wind up. Regardless, I think he’s a solid prospect and we’ll see what happens with an offer. With football going to 105 full scholarships, you can take a flier on a developmental-type prospect for a spot that otherwise would go to a preferred walk-on.
  10. The difference between the Big12 and SEC is that there are 2 teams in the Big12 and like 7 in the SEC. And several of those 7 have quality non-con wins or losses, or upcoming matchups (Texas 7 pt loss to #1 Ohio State, TAMU win over ND, UGA vs GTech coming up). Texas Tech and BYU have had joke schedules
  11. Flood is likely gone and Sark is not going to waste another year. We are probably going big in the Portal for OL. IMO zero chance Sark stands pat.
  12. Exactly right about the Clemson OL when they were winning national championships. Not all their OL were world beaters, but they played great as a unit.
  13. I may be alone but I’ll be fairly shocked if Texas doesn’t take a couple of linemen in the portal. You simply cannot replicate what happened this year in Manning’s final season in Austin. Hope is not an answer and that’s what Texas would be doing.
  14. Also, it's a false premise. If both us and Notre Dame win out, then the ACC and the B12 are getting only one team in if that's what it takes to get us both in.
  15. Texas was #11 in the cfp rankings last week. BYU will drop behind Texas & OU and everyone between 8-12 will move up one slot and Texas will be 10th.
  16. She got it completely wrong about the hardest game, though. If we can beat UGA in Athens, we’ll beat overrated TAMU with ease
  17. We'll be 10th behind the following: 1. Ohio St 2. A&M/Indiana 3. Indiana/A&M 4. Alabama 5. Georgia 6. Ole Miss/Tech 7. Tech/Ole Miss 8. Oregon 9. Notre Dame
  18. People say the same thing about the entire SEC.
  19. Clemson won two National Titles with what some considered average on the OL.
  20. So we are going to roll into next year with a bad offensive line again? That sounds dumb on Sark. Will we hear again this off season how great the line has looked and them completely no show?
  21. Unfortunate. I don’t view him as a good prospect. Looks like the average we have put out there.
  22. 1. Don't need to. 2. Not how you build the OL program long term.
  23. Not necessarily. Texas would sign five ... from what I heard
  24. BYU’s lone loss is to a CFP Top 10 team. Who has that CFP Top 10 team beat, other than BYU. Seems like a circular argument.
