  1. Past hour
  2. Would like to see Littleton or Kade Phillips get that no 7…
  3. Derrek Coopers #5 IG story
  4. I always love figuring out new numbers of the newcomers, or returners who are switched. According to Derek Coopers instagram story he will be wearing 5. That’s the only one I’ve been able to find thus far. Any that you guys figure out add them here!
  5. ☝️--WRONG--☝️ It hasn't been 8 years (drafted in 2019). Hamilton was a positive WAR (BRef, FG) player in the 2024 (2.6, 1.6) and 2025 (1.0, 0.1) seasons. He's just 28. Why would he leave when he gets paid like this? He projects to have more positive WAR seasons. He should keep going and see if he can make any money after he's arb-eligible after this season.
  6. After 8 years it’s time to get a real job.
  7. Forgive my ignorance, but does being in the “last 4 in,” category mean the same thing as being in a “play-in game?”
  8. Today
  9. Pretty much comes down to this ... still 9-9 lock to be in, and very likely a 10 seed 8-10, win one in the SEC Tournament ... play in game likely
  10. Good stuff. I met Larry McMurtry and Cormac McCarthy in San Marcos 2010 at the 25th anniversary conference for Blood Meridian. McMurtry lamented that Blood Meridian would outlast Lonesome Dove in the long run. I told McCarthy I thought he based Blood Meridian on Plato. He looked at me for about five seconds and said, "Well, yeah. No one has ever said that to me."
  11. I would add: A Man Called Horse, Open Range, and of course, Lonesome Dove.
  12. The Wire and Sopranos always dueling for my #1 spot
  13. Just kidding ..... but not really.
  14. Living on the bubble. This is the way of Texas basketball recently.
  15. My youngest daughter keeps asking me when Blood Meridian is coming out. I read the book with her five times from when she was ten to seventeen. I can't determine if it's really coming or not. I've read it's filmed and in the can. I've read it's maybe done. I've read it's nothing. My view is that it's extremely difficult to film. I don't know how you can do the book justice and put on film. I'd like to see an attempt, I hope it's good. Greatest novel in the history of America.
  16. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for sure. My avatar approves.
  17. Let's go greatest films. I'm a Western fan, so it's going to be all Westerns. Rio Bravo (1959) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) High Plains Drifter (1973) Unforgiven (1992) No Country for Old Men (2007)
  18. This post received some reaction so I will explain my mission. I was Roosevelt’s HS baseball coach in Brenham (LF on a state championship team), and he and I moved to Austin at the same time. We are close friends, but friendship is not why I have a mission. I believe Leaks is worthy of a statue or at least some recognition equal to a number (46) placed somewhere if not retired. Roosevelt was UT’s first Black All-American football player, and if he had not been foolishly required to do a full contact goal line drill the spring before his senior year, he almost certainly would have been UT’s first Heisman Trophy winner. He finished 3rd in the voting his junior year. He was a great college running back (fullback in the wishbone), and he persevered through racism from some of his teammates during his early time at UT. If there had not been a Leaks at Texas, there likely would not have been a Campbell. I wrote CDC twice about what I believe is a lack of sufficient and proper recognition, and I received no response whatsoever either time. Disappointing to a guy on a mission.
  19. 1)Schitts Creek 2)Ted Lasso 3) Wire 4) Sopranos 5) Breaking Bad 6) Abbott Elementary 7) Parks and Rec 8 Fresh Prince 9) Suits 10) Married with Children
  20. Is it just me or does it feel like Jahdae is one of the most underrated great players in Texas history? Maybe it just takes more time for the appreciation to come.
  21. Northern Exposure, Seinfeld, Cheers, Deadwood. Disparity of twenty years, but it's all more than twenty years ago
  22. It definitely wasn't always open.
  23. Vandy clobbered OU last night in Nashville. Texas will be much better defensively than OU was, but they need to bring more juice offensively to get out of there with a win this Thursday night.
