  1. Past hour
  2. Don't think we would be here without Quinn. Well, maybe that Manning guy helped a bit. Taffe is the best story.
  3. I understand now, I originally only read the Houston section that reads "Each ticket includes one autographed item and a photo with the hosts (hosts may be subject to change and availability): Derrick Johnson, Fozzy Whittaker, Rod Babers, Jeremy Hills, Nick Shuley, Bobby Burton, Gerry Hamilton and CJ Vogel. So round up your friends, throw on your best Burnt Orange, and head to Social Beer Garden for a night full of football, fun, and Texas spirit!" The Austin section reads as below.... Thus why I asked the original question. Sorry to bother you, I just don't want people to be confused or disappointed. "Each ticket includes one autographed item and a photo with the hosts (hosts may be subject to change and availability): "Derrick Johnson, Alex Okafor, Fozzy Whittaker, Rod Babers, Jeremy Hills, Nick Shuley, Bobby Burton, Gerry Hamilton and CJ Vogel. (please note: items will not be provided)."So round up your friends, throw on your best Burnt Orange, and head to Social Beer Garden for a night full of football, fun, and Texas spirit!

  6. 100% agree. I think it's a testament to the talent that has been brought in, along with the culture that has been instilled.

  8. From espn last Saturday. Eagles If you're looking for an Eagles player who could make a leap this season, keep a close eye on defensive tackle Moro Ojomo. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will lean on the third-year player to help replace the production of Milton Williams and has to be encouraged by what's seen to this point. Ojomo spent a good chunk of Saturday's practice in the backfield applying pressure on quarterback Jalen Hurts while working primarily against right guard Tyler Steen. He registered a "sack" on Hurts and later batted down one of his passes. Philadelphia hasn't put on pads yet, so no need to get carried away, but there was a lot of internal buzz around Ojomo this offseason and his performance has done nothing to quiet it.

  10. Nice write up on golden https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2025/07/29/packers-receiver-matthew-golden-has-breakout-practice-at-training-camp/85421326007/
  11. Living in Okla the last few years ticket prices drop after OU first and second losses. I’ve been on the OU side a few times watching Texas roll for less than face value.
  12. So many good guys have come through, but for me it's gotta be J-Whit. Absolutely selfless, stayed and provided leadership, and i will never forget his block and then standing over the player flexing. When a guy like that shows you the raw emotion and takes pride in the things not everyone wants to do, that impacts the whole team. He was a key figure in rebuilding our culture.
  13. Love these reports, thank you QM Jr!
  14. Ernie Koy, Jr. Big time tailback for Texas 1963-1965. Jeff Ward was an important Kicker for Texas in 1984. Chris Samuels and Rodney Tate were 2 other notable RB who wore 23.
  15. Today
  16. Jaden Blue - Rochon- Wisner -Jonathan Brooks - rb transfer from bama is perfect Textbook Texas example of how to develop , ferment- a NFL ready- RB. Results matter… WR …RB .. DTs in nfl if OT Cameron would have stayed , he wouldve been perhaps 1-2 rnd pick this yr!
  17. Was the flight running a deep fade?
  18. Chris Samuels returning a kick against Miami in the cotton bowl and getting crushed was a sign of the pain that day. I’m sure @Bobby Burtonrecalls https://youtu.be/TF9fNa3am14?si=vZ6jZNhYz9_ZG3FD
  19. That's his NFL position ... most likely. Bobby and I were told that was likely during SEC media days
  20. Kelshaun Johnson had a real chance coming out of HS, and has a real chance long term. Has a couple of different gears
  21. There are two things you should do, one for banking and one for the next step: On banking, set up an appointment with Xavier Sztenjberg, who basically is the leader, heart and soul of WSFM. Tell him everything. The advice above is all very good. Kill your self your first semester and first year, as those are the grades that matter. Oh, and I am shocked by people who don’t read the paper. Pretty much everyone on Wall Street are voracious consumers of news. Young people (not you) read instagram. The key for NY is some blend of the WSJ, the NYT and the NY post. You will never get into the buy side without a good banking job, so focus there. A very good point was made above that it’s not typical for somebody to jump from banking to PE from the associate ranks. I agree with that in general, but if you look at PE shops that have specialization, a lot of the laterals they take from banks have experience in banking in a subsector. So, in consumer that is the LCatts and the TSGs, BX tac ops just hired a guy from Lazard to lead financial services, etc…. I also agree that the energy shops in TX can be more forgiving, but that means you are in Houston not NY (and, while my heart is in Texas, my ass is in NYC). Most folks in PE were analysts in a bank for 2 or 3 years, and that is it. So, you will need to be smart. One idea is to find Ken Wiles, who leads the PE effort at UT. Get an appointment with him and start networking with some of the folks he recommends. Oh, and if you want to go into PE, you pretty much have to be in a M&A focused banking job. They are not hiring from the ECM team… first things first, get the best IB job you can.
  22. Don’t worry Blake you won’t be muted today
