  1. Past hour
  2. I like the lust, but you have to find a place for Ramonce Taylor on Offense and Derek Johnson on Defense. Also, put VY at TE and you have a mismatch everytime and he could take some snaps at QB for a change of pace.
  3. saw this the other day and this thread reminded me… https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/five-college-players-with-a-shot-to-make-historic-first-us-flag-football-team-at-2028-olympics-in-los-angeles/ One Longhorn mentioned in this article from CBS Sports.
  4. ICYMI: The announcement that inspired the post.
  5. There has been a hot topic in the NFL world in regards to the 2028 Summer Olympics which will include Flag Football for the first time in the history of the Olympiad. Of course, the overwhelming consensus is that the United States will be the heavy favorite when it is time for competition. However, I want to look at it with burnt orange glasses on. Build your dream flag football (7 on 7) roster using Longhorns you've watched over your lifetime. I was going to put a timeframe on this one but I think the conversation will be more fun with limitless options. I'll drop my roster here: *** Offense QB: Colt McCoy RB: Bijan Robinson WR: Xavier Worthy WR: Jordan Shipley WR: Roy Williams TE: Gunnar Helm RB Alternate: Jamaal Charles WR Alternate: Matthew Golden Should be some fun conversations about tight end with Helm, Ja'Tavion Sanders, Jermichael Finley all earning some looks. Wide receiver is very much the same. Who gives Limas Sweed and Quan Cosby some love on their rosters? Defense For defense, go with a combination of a middle linebacker and two STARs (nickels), or two linebackers and one STAR. That is up to you and how you choose to construct your defense. MLB: DeMarvion Overshown STAR: Quandre Diggs STAR: Jahdae Barron S: Earl Thomas S: Andrew Mukuba CB: Quentin Jammer CB: Aaron Ross The defensive side of the ball allows for much more roster flexibility. So many different combinations. I opted for ballhawks across the board and specifically near the football with Diggs and Barron playing the middle of the field in the second level. The range of Earl Thomas and Andrew Mukuba in the backend ensure that no one is beating me deep as well.
  6. Not a big DL fan, but gonna have to check this out. Thanks for heads up. As for Caitlin Clark, she’s obviously taken the WNBA to new heights. My middle son is a prime example of this. He’s eaten up with basketball. He plays year round, watches both college and the NBA, but has never had interest in the WNBA at all. He doesn’t even watch NCAA WBB. However, he now watches CC and also has multiple shirts of hers as well. That has led to interest in other players and teams something that would have NEVER happened before CC. He’s also now a big Aaliyah Chavez fan after going with me everywhere to cover her.
  7. Love your optimism and hope you’re right regardless of what I anticipate.
  8. What sre the dates of osu game?
  9. Today
  10. The problem I see is that he won’t play 1B in the league. Defense is going to be where teams ding him. If anything he is a DH imo. Edit: needs to be really disciplined at the plate for that (DH) to happen.
  11. Ivan was a heckuva college player but wonder if he at some point will make it to the Majors. Any predictions?
  12. How cool is that! What a night!
  13. I really enjoy NCAA basketball, volleyball and soft ball but that interest centers pretty much exclusively on the Texas teams. Zero interest here in the WNBA. An observation though is the more "soap opera" drama they can add to the WNBA the more interest it garners.
  14. Great idea for him as a guest. Let me see what I can do. Also, that’s awesome! Very cool experience for sure.
  15. I like Klatt. He seems to talk of Texas with respect and honesty, not a sunshine either.
  16. Fun to see these type of pictures but let see how he performs on field before getting too excited. Remember Blackshire had those ridiculous photos too back in the day and he didn’t exactly work out for bama or us.
  17. I like Klatt. I’ll often watch his YouTube channel during the season.
  18. I like Klatt. He has always struck me as a less weaselly version of Neuheisel.
  19. Anyone see this pic circulating around the internet. He’s a beast already . Unreal how big he is.
  20. You don’t see many guys that pretty much do butt kicks at full sprint
  21. We went up to Amarillo for a weekend after he was moved there and watched a couple of games. Didn't get a chance for an autograph but enjoyed being at their stadium and watching their games.
  22. As long as we get Turntine and Ojo I’m great. The rest is just unexpected and added talent.
  23. I like Klatt and his approach I’m one that believes LaNorris Sellers should be higher on all these lists, but my concern is SoCar can’t put the dudes around him on offense
  24. Yes. He’s very good and will rise in the rankings … but here is the but … Texas leads for OT Turntine, OT Ojo and OT/IOL Roseborough . Texas right there for Krempin And Texas loves Malakai Lee. Sam Utu is another that Texas wouldn’t turn down. It’s all going to come down to how the dominoes fall … timing for guys making decisions.
  25. I watched Joel Klatt on YouTube yesterday. He was grading QBs, and said Klubnik was the best returning QB. I have thought highly of Klubnik since his Westlake days and IIRC Gerry and Bobby and CJV think well of Klubnik now. Klatt thought that because he trusted Sark’s process and Arch’s dedication [along with Arch’s talent] that Arch would be the second best QB returning. Klatt said that he watched Washington State film for the entire season because he had to prep for being their Bowl game commentator, and he thought Mateer was the third best returning QB. To me, Klatt sounds reasonable and not like a hype machine. What is your take? Do you think Klatt is value added? Many of you here have opinions supported by football experience, which I do not, so I enjoy the community guidance about who are trustworthy football commentators and who are not.
  26. Doomer Gooners! Losers in life, too. 🤘🏻🏈🤘🏼🏈🤘🏈🤘🏽🏈🤘🏾🏈🤘🏿
