  2. @Gerry HamiltonHow true is this ? We are in the highest category on Pete sankos latest NIL article and it makes no sense but thought Id ask. This roster doesnt seem remotely close to the others we are being compared to. The $10 million club Last year’s transfer portal cycle was defined by programs awash in cash overspending to land top talent. The market was inflated, with schools able to spend freely before revenue sharing and the NIL Go clearinghouse took effect. A handful of schools touched the $10 million mark in 2024–25, but that number spiked this past season. Speaking with sources across the country, among the teams set to play in the Sweet 16 over the next two days, Arkansas, Duke, Houston, Michigan, St. John’s and Texas all spent at least $10 million. Arkansas, Duke and Houston all went big on their high school recruiting classes this season. The Blue Devils landed five-star forward Cam Boozer, who is a favorite to win National Player of the Year. John Calipari landed five-star point guard Darius Acuff, who has developed into one of the sport’s stars over the last six weeks. Houston has leaned on top freshmen Chris Cenac and Kingston Flemings. Michigan went big in the portal, landing UAB center Yaxel Lendeborg, while St. John’s retained forward Zuby Ejiofor. The spending among the elite class of college basketball is not expected to slow down. As one source told On3, the “golden price point is $12 to $15 million” for next year’s rosters.
  3. Gonna go out on a limb here and say it’s coming from that Children’s Hospital again.
  4. Today
  5. LSU and Texas are heavily investing in all major sports (assuming Texas gives Miller an NIL raise after this run)
  6. Man I’m glad we didn’t hire Will Wade. He may be ok but as good as Sean Miller. Plus (this is just personal) i kinda like a coach that looks like they might have at least played at some point.
  7. Yeah Notre Dame kind of surprised me. He had solely state of Texas OVs scheduled last time we talked to him, think he added Florida into that mix as well. Went up to South Bend and committed. Great kid for the Irish. Texas liked him a lot and I would have considered him a top tier target. But plenty of guys like LWC, Noah Roberts, SaRod Baker and others. Also hosted Frisco RB Brennen Lacey this week as well.
  8. Really? Earlier this week a Hank South article titled "Identifying Texas football's top target at each position: Offense" had this to say about the RB position - Lathan Whisenton, RB, Waco (Texas) Midway or Landen Williams-Callis, RB, Richmond (Texas) Randle 1A and 1B if you ask us. The Longhorns are going to sign at least two running backs in the class of 2027 and these two could very well be the guys. Whisenton is trending to Texas, if you ask me, with plenty of suitors trying to keep up with Texas. He was on campus for an unofficial visit on March 13 and will be back for an official visit June 12-14. (/quote) No need to worry, plenty of other similar RB targets, but saying he wasn't a priority when OTF just named him a top target seems odd.
  9. Maybe he could see that we were pursuing other backs more aggressively.
  10. Im with you on this with NIL I look at Michigan, Arizona, Florida, Uconn, etc in the same level. Being a blue blood doesnt carry much weight now in the top 2 sports.
  11. Nasty work by Will Wade after saying that will be the worst team NC State will have😂
  12. Is it just me or the UNC job isn't as big as it once felt. That program hasn't felt too relevant the past few years.
  13. Bobby’s favorite time. It’s time for pants pissing hahaha 😂 kidding
  14. Glas we did not go after him. Cant believe how NC state fans feel.
  15. Whisenton's dad tells me they're shutting his recruitment down and not taking any other OVs.
  16. Recruiting is never on my list of worries with Texas and Sark.
  17. Anyone else feel like we're in on a handful of RBs who are all pretty much interchangeable, in terms of quality?
  18. 100%, and I bet he takes it. UNC will get excited and put an NIL war chest behind him in hoops ... and Donovan will return UNC to a top two job in college hoops. Future Duke-UNC games will be epic
  19. I can't stand Oats, not questioning his ability to coach as that's pretty clear. Allowing Brandon Miller to keep playing after being questioned in a MURDER case, adding comments that downplayed the tragedy, his PG just getting arrested for 2 POUNDS of weed, bringing back players who actually played in the NBA, etc. You can argue that he's just playing by the "rules" but there's a difference between having morals and skating the line of integrity. The guy is morally vacant and I hope some controversy catches up to him.
  20. Portal opens April 7 and closes April 21. In the days following the season, OTF expects current players to announce intentions.
