Do most football players live on campus? Or is that typically for freshman athletes? With NIL, three or four dudes can rent a nice house together. I would love to have the TANK where one could pick up a great meal all day.

We are one of the few major universities that do not have a dedicated athlete housing facility. It’s not just about football, but all athletics.

There used to be a requirement that at least freshman athletes live on campus. They were originally in Jester and then moved to San Jacinto when that dorm initially opened. Not sure where they are these days.

I think living on campus is an important of college experience for all students if at all possible, including athletes. And with the mercenary nature of college football these days anything you can do to make them feel like more connected to the university would seem to be a good thing.

Not sure about rules for other sports, in football they stay in San Jac as freshmen. Then can move out assuming they achieve the grades and other expectations they need to meet. So a bunch should be moving out soon if they want to.  Be nice to get more on this. I remember how Herman did it with certain color levels they had to achieve.San Jac is full of athletes in all sports.
