Adrian Rodriguez says he had discomfort with his hand last year when playing. 

Says he was unsure of what the true diagnoses was, but they put two staples in his hand and he’s been doing well since.

Rodriguez says he’s learned that he doesn’t need to be swinging everyday to be up to speed with his swings. 

says he is comfortable with both sides of the plate at the moment.

A-Rod says the standard of Texas Baseball is well known in the locker room and as a result the newcomers have been able to buy in immediately.

Carson Tinney says the expectation is to win a National Championship. 

Says he spends a ton of time with the pitching staff, from cookouts to time at practice and the weight room. He is doing whatever he can to become familiar with the pitching staff.

In regards to who on the staff could surprise this year, Tinney says “Thomas Burns could surprise some people.”

Ruger Riojas says he’s up to 205, gained about 10-15 pounds from a year ago. 

Riojas says he got sick with the flu, which turned into bronchitis, and lost about 20-25 pounds last year. Now he believes he’s back to where he was pre-illness

Riojas says tinney catches all of his bullpens with the intent of becoming more familiar with the staff before the season starts

Max Weiner has a saying with the Texas pitching staff called being “hired hitmen”

Riojas said the staff has bought into that mentality.

Riojas says he felt like it was rock bottom towards the end of last year. But calls it a great learning opportunity and that he’s excited to get back out on the mound this year

Riojas says he didn’t believe he was mature enough to test the MLB Draft waters after last year. Says he wanted to improve his mentality and mental toughness with another year under Max Weiner.
